Tonight at CUA with Dean Andrew Abela and Andreas Widmer, I presented a case for a re-evaluation of the Lutheran socialist Paul Tillich–I believe his "Courage to Be" is an incredibly relevant modern book, and could be synthesized in a more Catholic way as "The Courage to Be—in Communion", since Being itself is relational. One of the most fundamental anxieties about AI is that it is 'doing' more and more of what we can do, but it is certainly not being more of who we are. The courage to be would certainly help reframe many of these discussions—toward the ontological, and away from the superficial. Thank you to everyone who came out. Especially the mothers and babies.

We were honored to welcome Gianmarco Botti, an Italian journalist and scholar of American politics, to campus for a week of research and conversation. During his visit, Dr. Botti joined our Novak Fellows for their March symposium, where the group explored thoughtful and effective approaches to addressing poverty. He offered valuable insights from outside the American perspective and engaged with our students while experiencing their seminar-style discussions firsthand. Pictured here in front of the portrait of Michael Novak, a topic of his study, and the scholar who inspires the Novak Fellowship. Botti’s visit was a meaningful opportunity for intellectual exchange and global perspective.

Excited to welcome Bryan to Napa this summer for what is sure to be a silo-busting event. The difference with a @ClunyInstitute conference, though, is that Bryan will either by follow directly by, or be in conversation with, a Benedictine monk. You will hear conversations and meet people at the intersection of Athens, Jerusalem, and Silicon Valley, and we will probe the fundamental question of "life" to its limits. There's still time to join us. You will come away feeling more alive. That is my promise to you. Reserve a spot by following link in the post below.
ZOË SPEAKER CONFIRMED: @bryan_johnson Bryan Johnson is bringing his mission to conquer death to Napa for ZOË: Life Abundant in an Artificial Age — A Cluny Conference.  Tickets are going fast. Reserve your spot today: cluny.org/events/zoe-confere…
