On my musicology days, I'm either researching or writing. Quite a lot of writing!

From today, please follow my main account at @Karenmca - I've decided it's easier all round if I focus my efforts on that one. Thanks!
Had a 'heavenly' time discovering unfamiliar repertoire! @GlasgowLib, I can explain....! This is a little piece of history in its own way.
Disappeared down a rabbit-warren of unanswered questions in the stacks of @GlasgowLib #MitchellLibrary with one of the librarians. Not seeking music by women, but we found American 19th cent woman hymn writer, Mrs Kate S. Burr. Wonder who she was? Maybe a Sunday School teacher?

I had two things I had to do, to a deadline. Both done. Admittedly, one was quite close to the deadline, but it was the right side of it. I think I should celebrate!
#WorldBookDay today, so before I continue writing Chapter 5 of my 2nd book, let me share that it's ALL about books of music, instructional books about how to sing/play it - there isn't a #WorldBooksOfMusicDay, so I'll just share this day, thanks! @RoutledgeMusic @annamusiclib
#InternationalWomensDay2023 - for historical women as well as those of us kicking around today! This was my post-Christmas-wind-down research ... her BROTHER accepted an award for her because it would have been undignified for her to make her own acceptance speech ...

Let me share this with colleague @emily_doolittle - who has strong views about such things!
I have advocated against this kind of BS my entire professional life. Music history ought not to be reduced to a popularity contest and the distribution of prizes. These are all great composers, for sure, but the top-10 idea is silly.

How best to organise the remaining (probably three) chapters? This one first? That one? Maybe (taking deep breath) state up-front that this factor and that one coexist - then jump right into a mega-chapter ...?
