Moremi Ajasoro, the legendary heroine of Ile-Ife, made an extraordinary sacrifice to liberate the people of Ife, particularly the market women, from the Ugbo invaders who terrorised the ancient Oja Ejigbomekun, now known as Oja Ife.
This historic celebration honours her bravery, selflessness, sacrifice and enduring legacy. Moremi Ajasoro remains an eternal symbol of courage, freedom and the strength of Yoruba women.
