It was a welcome reprieve for the Sats preparation showing that here @windmillprimary we want to ensure opportunities for everyone to shine. We know it's not all about tests, we like to engage the children in other ways too! @Class14Windmill
Thank you to the staff at Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre for their visit today. The Y6's had a wonderful experience, funded solely by school, this afternoon meeting some birds of prey as part of our Darwin's Delight topic.

We received this message: "My 4yr old came home saying she wished she was a boy so she could be a fireman. When I said girls can be firefighters too she said 'I’ve seen in books they are all boys -I don’t want to be the only girl.’Our crews have responded! #firefightingsexism
Last week we wrote letters as an evacuee. This week we put ourselves in the shoes of the parents who were left behind. This is a fantastic account of life on the 'home front' and it's not even finished yet!!! Well done Imogen G!
