Canada has the talent, now we're backing it with capital.
Today, our government unveiled the $1.75 billion Venture and Growth Capital Plan. It will support Canadian innovators at every stage, starting at pre-seed, and is expected to attract at least $3.8 billion in private investment.
So Canadian companies can start here, grow here and stay here.

Canada has what the world wants - and the numbers prove it. As of September 2026, Canadian mining companies are the world's most valuable, with $488B in combined market value.
We're building that value through strategic investments, regulatory reform, new tax incentives for business investment, and cooperation with allies on stronger, more secure minerals supply chains.
Proud to be from the world's best mining nation 🇨🇦

Canada has what the world wants, and that is why Glencore has invested $2B to develop the first new mine in the Sudbury basin in more than a decade.
@Glencore’s Craig Mine will begin producing nickel - a key input for stainless steel, batteries, and more - later this year, and they will do it low-carbon, using some of the most advanced electric mining technology in the world.
During these uncertain times, it makes me proud to support a project that has created 7,000 jobs for the skilled tradespeople, contractors, suppliers and mining professionals across Northern Ontario. Projects like these keep Canadians working, prosperous and secure, and will ensure Sudbury's mining legacy is not of the past, but the future too 🇨🇦

ICYMI: Yesterday, we announced the largest clean energy investment in North American history. $10 billion from your federal government to unlock $70 billion in capital, tens of thousands of jobs, and enough power to light up Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver combined. ⚡️
Alongside Québec and Newfoundland and Labrador, we are working hand-in-hand to make the seemingly impossible, possible – and to control our own destiny in a world that feels increasingly uncertain.🌎
There is a lot to say about the achievements being announced today – so here is what you need to know about how Canada, Québec and Newfoundland and Labrador are partnering to Build Canada Strong⬇️

Excited to see new financing announced for NMG today — the final step before they can reach a final investment decision and start construction.
The Matawinie Mine will ensure we can deliver Quebec’s graphite internationally for decades to come. This is a prime example of Canada’s Major Projects Office hard at work and getting things built.

If Canada wants to be an energy superpower, we need to be trading our energy and natural resources with one of the world’s largest energy markets: India.
That’s why, this week, I’m in India for trip of firsts: Canada’s first federal ministerial presence at India Energy Week and the first Canada–India energy dialogue in eight years 🇨🇦🇮🇳
As major projects are being built at home, we’re building relationships abroad that will allow us to sell our products worldwide and carve out a new path for a stronger, more sovereign Canada.

Critical minerals are the pillars of our economy and national security in the 21st-century.
That’s why we’re using the Defence Production Act to designate them as essential to Canada’s national defence and interests.
This designation allows Canada to move faster to secure supply chains, build strategic stockpiles, and strengthen our economic and defence resilience for decades to come.
This is how we lead, how we support industry, and how we build a more sovereign and resilient Canada in an increasingly volatile world.
