LAZARUS LONDON RUN STARTED TEN YEARS AGO TODAY
“I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen...”
Following the run at New York Theatre Workshop in Manhattan, the London production of Lazarus ran at the King's Cross Theatre from 8 November 2016 to 22 January 2017, with previews beginning the week of 25 October.
Ivo van Hove again directed the London production, and Henry Hey was the musical director and arranger/orchestrator.
Did you see Lazarus in either New York or London, and have you travelled to see any of the various productions around the globe since then?

Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, photographed by Michael Lavine in New York in 1992.
Kurt with his hair dyed red, Courtney planting a kiss on his cheek. Lavine had already photographed Nirvana before Nevermind broke, and he said this was the only photo session Kurt and Courtney ever did together. "I love these shots, they're so intimate," he said. "They were in love, and you can tell."
It was a huge year for both of them. Nevermind had just knocked Michael Jackson off the top of the Billboard chart, the couple married in Hawaii in February, and their daughter Frances Bean was born that August. Kurt was gone less than two years later, at 27.
🎸 Kurt and Courtney married in February 1992. Where were you when you first heard Nevermind? 🎸

David Bowie and Cher on the set of her CBS variety show, Cher. Bowie taped his guest spot on November 8, 1975, at CBS in Los Angeles, and the episode aired two weeks later, on Sunday, November 23.
It is often called his US TV debut, but it wasn't. The 1980 Floor Show aired on NBC's Midnight Special in 1973, and Bowie taped The Dick Cavett Show in New York in November 1974, broadcast that December.
On Cher's show he sang "Fame," his first US No. 1, then duetted with her on "Can You Hear Me." The finale was a medley that started and ended with "Young Americans," with snippets of "Song Sung Blue," "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Day Tripper," "Ain't No Sunshine" and more in between. That same week he had also taped Soul Train.
⚡ The Young Americans medley ran about six and a half minutes and squeezed in more than a dozen songs. Do you remember seeing it? ⚡
