Three years in a quarry. A layoff in May. Now I direct AI agents instead of writing code. Ep 1 of my story is up as an Article: the quarry, the layoff, and the first thing I learned about agents. What pushed you to change fields? xitter.cf/CleanFix_Dev/status/21…

MARNE V2T just had its best week yet. Real breakthroughs, and I'm very close to the goal I set. Still building in the open, still not done, and I'm fired up.

1,172 of you here now, and a lot of you are building something alone. So let's flip it today: what are you stuck on right now? A bug, a launch, a tool that won't install. Drop it below. Someone in this crowd may have already solved it 🤝

For Edition #7 we ran DubWorld by @alihaydar_58_ on Windows: a 7-second English clip, dubbed into Turkish, fully local. Honest catch: the install needed a workaround, it wants 14 GB+ of disk, and we didn't judge quality. Would you set up local dubbing yourself?

Before any of this, I ran heavy equipment for years. Now I direct AI agents to build software. Curious how many of you came into building from somewhere else. What was your old job? 👇

If you open one from Edition #7, make it Argus. We ran its whole test suite on Windows: 483 passed, 14 skipped. Self-hosted, MIT, by @thomasunise. Catch: AI off, synthetic data. Every link is in the closer of the thread.
Devs Helping Devs: Edition #7 🛠️ The Run-It-Yourself Toolkit We tested 5 open source tools on Windows: ones aimed at Claude Duet and ElevenLabs dubbing, a security platform, a local AI app and a coding IDE. Real results, real catches. Links in the last post 👇 #DevsHelpingDevs

An agentic IDE from JetBrains, built on git worktrees and living specs, by its own description. ThinkRail by @jetbrains: the Windows v0.2.0 build matched its checksum, launched and loaded its Projects screen. Apache-2.0. Catch: no model provider connected, so no agent ran.

SAVE THIS: every link from Devs Helping Devs Edition #7 🔖 1. Covo by hmody1m on GitHub, pitched as an open source alternative to Claude Duet Repo: github.com/hmody1m/covo Claude Duet: claude.com/resources/article… Claude plans: claude.com/pricing Catch: needs your own model API key or a local model. Not affiliated with Anthropic. We tested demo mode and 25 tests, not live agent work. MIT. 2. DubWorld by @alihaydar_58_, local video dubbing Repo: github.com/alexturkey/dubwor… ElevenLabs plans: elevenlabs.io/pricing Catch: Turkish by default, install needed a workaround, 14 GB+ of disk, quality and lip-sync not judged. Code is Apache-2.0, voice models have their own terms. 3. Argus by @thomasunise, security investigation platform Repo: github.com/thomasunise/argus Catch: AI was off in our run, synthetic data only. Its README also lists security testing features that we did not run. MIT. 4. Llama Windows by @ggml_org, local models in the Windows tray Repo: github.com/ggml-org/Llama-Wi… Releases: github.com/ggml-org/Llama-Wi… Catch: browser chat timed out and the tray overlay wasn't tested. Windows 11. MIT. 5. ThinkRail by @jetbrains, agentic IDE Repo: github.com/JetBrains/thinkra… Site: thinkrail.ai/ Catch: UI and checksum only, no model provider connected, no agent run. Needs git and a model provider. Apache-2.0. That's Edition #7. Thank you, builders 🙏 Star the repos, it tells a builder someone noticed. 📣 SHOUT-OUT (not one of our tested picks, we haven't run it): somebody shipped this week 🚀 Loudship by @am56ay is a paid tool (Solo $29/month) that, per its own site, emails founders Reddit, Hacker News and Bluesky threads with draft replies they post themselves. He launched it on Product Hunt this week. If it looks useful, go give it an upvote 🙌 Product Hunt: producthunt.com/products/lou… His post: xitter.cf/am56ay/status/21143901… What have you shipped this week? 🚀 Reply with what it is and a link, and you could be featured in the next highlight. We run it every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 👇 🤝 #DevsHelpingDevs #buildinpublic #connect 👋
1,300 views on X. 1 upvote on Product Hunt. That's how my launch is going so far. 💀 Months of building Loudship, a tool that helps founders find potential customers. And today I'm learning the same lesson all over again: Building a product is hard. Getting people to notice it is harder. But I'm not giving up. Still a few hours left in my Product Hunt launch. If you're curious about what I've been building, I'd genuinely love your feedback. 👇 Link below
