Selderhuis is kennis van de geschiedenis van de kerk is nodig om de eenvoudige reden dat je moet weten waar je vandaan komt, als je wilt weten waarom je bent wat je bent, en om te weten waar je naartoe moet.

Newly released Canadian Armed Forces Military Personnel Instructions 03/26 restrict military chaplains from referencing God in official military ceremonies.
This is yet another large step off the path Canada should be on.
The government is now mandating the error Paul condemns in Romans 1, requiring chaplains not to honour God as God, nor give thanks to him in any official capacity.
The irony? While the directive cites the Charter rights of CAF members as the rationale for this so-called neutrality, the openly theistic preamble of that very Charter violates the standard they seek to enforce.

A lady from our church is dying. I took my guitar & sang hymns with her. She lit up with joy. The playlist was How Great Thou Art, What a Friend, and The Old Rugged Cross.
