Fully agree Charles but this goes to show how rubbish that award is.
Argentina won the World Cup and they gave Messi the award for 6 weeks of football when Haaland scored 52 goals, broke records and won the treble.
We just move on from nonsense stuff like this award.
Replying to @AJKendrick
Hi Anthony. First of all, what on earth does "one of them" mean?
Spanish forwards won the World Cup, a forward scored the winning goal in the final. That doesn't mean he should win the Gerd Muller award does it? It's an award for the season as a whole, not someone who had to make 12 saves throughout a six-week tournament and faced 4 shots on target from the quarter-finals onwards.
Raya won the Premier League (and was Arsenal's player of the season in my opinion), got to the CL final. He produced arguably the best individual season I've ever seen a keeper have. He was that influential to Arsenal's success.
I mean, come on? Simon is a very good keeper and de la Fuente clearly prefers him for how he wants his team to play, which is obviously his right (and has been successful). But if he pulled his hamstring in the final group stage game of the WC and missed the rest of the tournament do you think he would have been anywhere close to that award?
It shouldn't be an award on a tournament, no matter how big it is.

Hope it’s analysed and realise minutes shouldn’t be gimmes for certain players at Arsenal Football Club.
All I can say though is congratulations Fleetwood. Unbelievable night for them and deserve.
Full credit to them.
Smartest move in football now
Wonder if Bayern and PSG are the smartest career moves for players seeking recognition. Diaz was decent at Liverpool, but nobody rated him highly until he joined Bayern. Now he’s an 89-rated FC 27 player and apparently one of the world’s best LWs, despite Gakpo being just as good, if not better.
Haaland has been better than Kane since 2023, yet Kane moved to Germany for an easier trophy route and is now on the verge of winning the Ballon d’Or
They always do this😭 bring down VG when Kai plays shit
We're not doing that today.
Today was not on Gyökeres in any way, shape, or form. He scored a pretty difficult goal (turned 0.42 xG chances to 0.90 xG on target shots), found areas to shoot and scored his penalty.
There is only one person to blame (I guess you could blame Salmon and Dowman, but they're like 5-yrs-old) and that's Kai Havertz. Don't try this "they're both shit" gimmick.

And I don’t care what the consensus is on here, but I think Declan Rice is a Top 5 player in the world.
He contributes to every phase of play. He is the reason Arsenal are so dominant, despite mediocre attacking patterns.
Maybe he’s not aesthetically pleasing, but he understands the game. Top percentile ball carrier, space eater, crosser, box crashed, offensively, whilst also top in duels, breaking up attacks.
He is so, so good.

I sat through Giroud vs Monaco and I thought it wouldn’t ever get worse than this.
Along came Kai Havertz.

He didn’t kick him @henrywinter . Come on. He has pushed him with his leg. Don’t exaggerate it as more than it was.

Do this in England 😭😭
🚨🤮 A Real Madrid fan who attended El Clásico at the Camp Nou with his son got KICKED OUT for simply celebrating Kylian Mbappé’s 1st goal.
They did not do anything offensive, they simply just stood and hugged each other, according to the father.
Before that, they were asked to REMOVE their Real Madrid kits. When asked where to put them, the security pointed at the TRASH BINS. When he checked Barcelona’s official ticketing app, he found NOTHING restricting Real Madrid kits.
The father says that he paid €2,800 for the 2 tickets, and it was a gift for his son’s 18th birthday.
They watched the rest of the match in a taxi.
EMBARRASSING. @marca 🤦♂️
