This is why so many coaches will scream xyz but have no idea what it’s like as a CB. That chalkboard will lie with X/O’s… use your hands.. and unless your Saftey is a pure dog with great eyes and movement.. assume as the CB you are in man and keep the cov.

I know there is a lot of talk about QBs sliding… I slid my whole career & never took a hit like you see now & that’s when hitting was allowed!
I don’t believe it’s the sliding that’s the problem, it’s the TIMING of the slide! QBs are pushing envelope bc they are more protected & they expect defenders to just assume they aren’t going to keep running… bad assumption!
Go down early or just be a running back - the in-between is the problem IMO!

As someone who’s played for Coach Lew (😳) I still really believe in his coaching abilities. He really is a great leader and has shown he can lead great Aztec teams as recently as last season.
However I think his biggest flaw is recruiting and player evaluation. Outside of his ability to keep San Diego kids in San Diego, which many before him did struggle to do, under no circumstances should he ever have thought Denegal should be the starter.

I'll say this about that Lincoln loss: if Jason Carter and his assistants who went to Valhalla with him are calling that offense, Lincoln wins by 2 TDs.
Lincoln had 12 or 13 penalties last night, about half of those were for taking too much time calling a play.
At one point in about the middle of the 3rd, Lincoln had 1st and 10 from the 21 going in, turned into 4th and 40 or so; they were down 21-28, they didn't score on that drive.
They had ALL the momentum at that point in the game.
