Welcome to the DT Retrospective! I went through 127 DTs over the past 7 draft cycles to breakdown and understand the position at a deeper level. More than happy to explain any placement on any player. With that being said, lets jump into this! 🧵

Yo Packers fans. I get that this was a bad roughing the passer, but didn't Laporta catch this? This was ruled incomplete at the game and he had control start to finish.
Jared Goff’s toughness in the pocket remains impressive as hell. What a throw.

Sometimes with Vega, the way people describe his play you'd expect him to be doing this to people, which he just isn't.

Great thing we are looking at 6 drills to comprise athleticism and not their ability on film. RAS doesn't equal NFL athleticism.
Good thing that at the safety position not being a great athlete doesn’t really inhibit you from being a great and generational player!

Teaching Buddy of mine put out a good point McAfee and all his goons there are part of the failing of society. Orlovsky genuinely didn't know something and wasn't afraid to point it out. The rest make fun of him. Gotta be willing to be wrong in order to grow.

Brother he asked if it was always per 100 and if it always works like that Dude legit didn't know what percent actually meant
Guarantee none of knuckle-heads knew the word “percent” comes from the Medieval Latin words “per centum”. Translation: "Per" means through or by, and "centum" means hundred. Together, it literally translates to "by the hundred". THAT was his point, not how percentages work!

Man I forgot how combative fans are when they feel like the refs cheated them instead of just recognizing Football as a sport of opportunities that you have to capitalize on!

I guess my issue with the Lions game was that it felt like bad calls were going both ways consistently. Makes sense the losing team would weaponize it (no hate, all fan bases do it), but the bigger issue is getting these refs way more consistent.

Starts to throw and ball leaves the hand before a defender makes meaningful contact, dirts the ball 8 yards from Kraft. If he's out the pocket, ball still needs to go past the LOS. It's grounding lol
Another Look At The Jordan Love Intentional Grounding From The Skycam. He's Out Of The Pocket, And Tucker Kraft Is Right There. Clear And Obvious Incomplete Pass, Not Grounding. The Officials Also Didn't Announce This Flag, Almost Like They Tried To Hide It. This Needs To Be Looked At. 🔍

I wonder if knee strength and fluidity matters more than hips fluidity. There are a lot of players with Great knees that allow them to disguise hip stiffness like Gabe Jacas (not in a bad way, just how he is). Tbh Great knees might be more important than fluid hips.

After watching more than highlights, he's neat. Current year Top 100 type guy, could grow as his body develops. A lot of his movement takes advantage of his unique body with his duck feet. I was too harsh on the initial watch.

Then you aren't efficient. If you have to sleep at the facility to get your work done, you aren't doing quality work. Rest and leisure and necessary to keep you firing on all cylinders. He's getting ragged on cuz sleeping there and not resting isn't making the most of it.
I see a lot of people ragging on this guy Break it down - there are only 138 FBS defensive coordinator jobs in the USA 138 people out of 349 million in the US …. Ole buddy has a shot to lock in a 400k a year job You bet your ass I’m sleeping in the office for two weeks

Think analytics guys might be off on this. Football ain't set odds. What might be 51% on the whole might have different odds in the moment. Football is variable, it does take a level of reading the situation in order to appropriately call the game.
Kyle Shanahan says a 51% analytics recommendation won’t convince him to go for it because he gets one shot, not an hour at a blackjack table “I don’t want to hear about it if it’s 51% of the time we should go for it.” “As I always say, I’m not sitting here playing Blackjack for an hour with no one else at the table, and eventually I’ll get 51% of it. Like, I have this one try, and I have a feel for it. I’ve been doing it too long.” “But what I want to know from him, when it’s not a feel, when it, no, this is 98%. We don’t even need to talk about it. So we don’t need to talk about it. Tell me when it’s that, and I’ll just do it.”

Andrew Marshall, CB, Nebraska Good athlete. Great footspeed. Incredible processor. Understands what's coming before the WR even breaks. Such elite feel, hard not to root for him. Off a Vibe scout he's a Top 75 grade (Low end CB2 on day 1 with high end CB2 upside)

Anyone who posts like this don't understand how good Goff has been. He's been a definitive 2nd tier QB and a Top 10 QB for the past 3 years. Lateral move just cuz people like scrambling.
What would you give the Chargers for Justin Herbert if you were the Lions' GM? 🤔

Aw yes, these single thrusters were enough to get lift off of an electric vehicle that probably weighs 5 tons. When I say people are missing critical thinking skills, it applies to stuff like this as well. It's so obviously fake lol
These 3.5 seconds did more to fortify American Identity than any establishment politician or political party in the last generation. 100 years of neoliberal rule was vaporized in 3.5 seconds. Rejoice, we are still America. 🇺🇸

Think many people got the wrong Idea. This is what Marv looked like even in Arizona camp. He just has a skillset that wasn't being utilized. OSU knew how to, half way thru the year adjusted his route tree and certain routes run to elevate his play.

Oh buddy we gotta have a talk about the route tree data. That is not how you read that data.
On Makai Lemon: Watching film, you can tell there's strong reasons why Makai Lemon isn't getting the ball and I wanted to visualize it with @FantasyPtsData: 1) Hurts throwing to MOF 16.8% of the time 2) Look at Lemon's route share 74.3% of his routes are towards the MOF

Half my issue is that we labeling players that haven't really done anything. Jordan Van Berg? Very Good? The 6th rounder with 20% snap share and meh tape? You can disagree with the Boerkircher pick, but there's so many other issues with this post lol
Weekly Reminder: Jacksonville Jaguars ‘genius’ GM James Gladstone drafted Nate Boerkircher - 44 receiving yards in the entire SEASON - over: - Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (stud) - Anthony Hill Jr. (stud) - Davison Igbinosun - Jake Slaughter - Carson Beck - Markel Bell (monster) - Antonio Williams (very skilled) - Malachi Fields (impressive) - Caleb Douglas - Drew Allar - Zachariah Branch - Ja’Kobi Lane - Ted Hurst - Daylen Everette (improving already) - Jaishawn Barham (popping) - Chris Bell - Eli Raridon - Kaleb Proctor - Gracen Halton (monster) - Jonah Coleman - Elijah Sarratt - Keionte Scott (sneaky good) - Mike Washington - Malik Muhammad (stud) - Skyler Bell - Will Lee (Panthers love him) - Genesis Smith (stud) - Bryce Lance - Kyle Louis - Ephesians Prysock (sneaky good) - Michael Taaffe - Lorenzo Styles - Hezekiah Masses (stud) - Cyrus Allen - Kevin Coleman - Kaytron Allen - Jordan van den Berg (very good) - Harold Perkins (stud) - Trey Smack (stud) - Landon Robinson (sneaky good) - Seth McGowan Why the reminder? Because you DON’T have to reinvent the wheel. You DON’T have to try to look like ‘The Smartest One in the Room.’ Just be solid. Be practical.

I don't think people really understand how crazy of athlese Megatron and Julio were. Jeremiah Smith is Great, but even he isn't at that level of athlete.
Jeremiah Smith - Megatron Brysen Wright - Julio Depending on who you ask, people have a preference.
