"Aggressive patience is a concept where you work every single day as hard as you can towards your goal, but you also understand that it will take time. It's executing day in, day out; it's executing for weeks, months, & years." - Andy Frisella
Michael Brennan has a great team around him and possesses an elite work-ethic. Fortunate to have been part of his journey @WakeForest @DemonDeacons @WakeMGolf
Michael Brennan talking about how he developed speed is instructive for any golfer, especially aspiring competitive players.
1) He wasn’t always fast. From the time he started working with swing coach Adam Harrell at 13, speed was something they intentionally developed. Speed is a skill, and they trained it like one.
2) He developed the physical qualities that underpin speed. From a young age, his work with Jason Meisch helped build the movement capabilities, strength and power that supported his ability to create it.
3) That development continued in college. At Wake Forest, David Bass became part of a team that shared a common philosophy and communicated well across coaches, helping Michael continue to get faster.
His speed wasn’t the product of an overnight breakthrough or singular secret. It was years of intentional speed training, physical development, and a team aligned around a common goal.
Always fun watching @demondeacons compete, but watching Michael Brennan take home the @wyndhamchamp and qualify for the @fedexchamp was next level!!🎩⛳️
Just left a HS summer 🏀 showcase as a parent & 30+ yrs in college athletics, as an athlete & a coach, & I am deeply disturbed.
Had to be 30 teams at the event, & one common theme was terrible player body language, unruly parents, and zero accountability from the sidelines. 🧵👇
I don't envy high school coaches; parent involvement & administrative pressure are at an all-time high.
But we have to stop chasing summer scoreboards. High school sports should be about equipping young people with life skills such as teamwork, resilience, & accountability.🧵👇

If you can’t recover from it and adapt to it, should you really be training it?
