I was at the game they weren’t ringing cowbells when we were on the ball. Stop with the excuses. Nobody fault except Drink. He deserves all the blame

Coaches, be leery of “Somebody” and “They” as you start your seasons;
“They” were supposed to tell you…
“Somebody” took my knee pads
“They” didn’t wake me up
“Somebody” took my pants

Hang around two lazy people, you’ll become the third.
Hang around two cheaters, you’ll become the third.
Hang around two dropouts, you’ll become the third.
Hang around two CHAMPIONS, you’ll become the third.

John Harbaugh says every team fights 4 silent forces - every single day.
He and his brother named them years ago.
You won't always see them - but they shape your culture and define your team.
Here are the 4 hidden threats every organization faces:🧵

Say it with me.
Offensive Linemen do not need to be 300 lbs. in high school.

Pet peeve after offering a kid a scholarship…
Comment from Current Adult in their Life: “Congrats! First of many! Can’t wait to see the many more offers to come!”
Me: “How about I withdraw my offer & leave y’all to go collect 100 more offers to feel validated? 🤣”
Moral of the story — You need the ONE right offer to have a successful college career, not 100 offers to get likes online.
Don’t push kids to collect a million offers just to have them. You want the RIGHT offer to go have a successful, fulfilling career!

With all due respect, winning a HS state championship holds less and less weight every year to me.
Not because winning is easy, because it’s not.
I understand people are only doing what they’re allowed to do, I get it. But because roster movement, transfers, recruiting culture, and talent stacking have completely changed what high school football looks like.
Beyond grateful I grew up in what felt like the golden age of HS football. It created morals and values in me that I still carry today.

62% of D2 football players that entered the transfer portal have retired.
79% of D3 athletes. 🤯
The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Hard truth in recruiting:
For some players, development matters more right now than exposure.
More camps.
More graphics.
More social media posts.
None of that replaces:
• Size
• Strength
• Technique
• Fit
• Long-term development
Development still wins.
