Love does not see skin color.
Love is the answer....not violence.
Fellow coaches, I urge you to use our platform to spread this message to our players. Turn on the TV and you see the misguided youth. They need us more than ever!
Love one another and God Bless.

Freddie Freeman says his 69 year old dad still throws him batting practice everyday because he believes not everything has to be about getting better, and says the hour they spend together is worth more than any amount of reps with a real pitcher or coach
“When people ask me, ‘What advice do you have for my 10-year-old?’ I say, ‘It’s not for the 10-year-old. It’s for you, the parent.’ My dad loved practicing and throwing batting practice and doing those kinds of things with me every single day. When you have a parent that loves it just as much as I loved it, it’s kind of a match made in heaven.”
“My dad was the one that led me to baseball, and then obviously I just loved it. He was fueling that fire. He still throws me batting practice to this day. In the offseason, I’ll take about two months off baseball activities. Then in January I’ll go to my high school in Orange County, and we’ll spend an hour together. I work out with him and he throws me batting practice.”
“He’s 69 years old and he still throws. The last two years he goes, ‘Freddie, I’m not very good anymore.’ And I said, ‘Dad, that’s not the thing. It’s not about that. It’s about the hour we spend together.’”
“I’ll figure it out in spring training. I hit every day there. I just want to hit with you. This is our thing. He thinks he’s not very good, but I think he’s great.”

If you grew up playing WIFFLE BALL in the 80s and 90s, this one's for you...
We didn't just play Wiffle ball.
We built STADIUMS in our backyards.
I remember mowing the grass on the LOWEST setting to outline our field. Eventually the grass would die, which absolutely pissed my dad off. 😂
We chalked batter's boxes. Made our own outfield distance signs.
Our HOUSE ROOF was the right-field home run fence. Left field? A portable fence we built ourselves.
We scraped together whatever money we could find for replacement Wiffle balls at the local hardware store.
We organized tournaments that lasted ALL SUMMER.
Ghost runners. Made-up ground rules. Hit the runner with the ball to get him OUT.
We argued calls like it was Game 7 of the World Series.
No umpires. No coaches. No adults organizing anything.
Just neighborhood kids, a plastic bat, a plastic ball, and an imagination that never ran out.
And looking back 30 years later, something hits me...
We were learning how to COMPETE. How to solve problems. How to make our own decisions. How to handle winning AND losing.
We were developing baseball instincts without a single lesson.
We were falling in love with the GAME without anybody telling us we needed to.
We just called it PLAYING.
Man, what I'd give for ONE MORE summer afternoon on those backyard fields. ⚾️
Who else grew up this way? Tell me about YOUR backyard stadium.

"I can't hit slow pitching."
If big league hitters couldn't hit slow pitching, every team would just put a position player on the mound and lob it in.
They don't. Because good hitters adjust.
Good hitters hit fast pitching, slow pitching, good pitchers and bad ones.
Drop the excuse.

It always helps to hear it from some of the best coaches in the game. Hear it from @DBU_Baseball Head Coach Dan Heefner 🗣️
Integrity and honesty matter in our conversations with coaches about our players!

If your kid’s coach is not teaching them how to bunt, ask the coach “why?”
If he says, “It’s a dead out,”
FIND THE EXIT
If he says, “Well, the data says…” FIND THE EXIT
If he says, “It takes away the big inning,”
FIND THE EXIT
Refusing to teach the skill of bunting leaves hitters one dimensional, increasingly self outcome oriented, and limited in approach during slumps or at bats against dominant pitching.
Bunting increases hand eye coordination, plate/zone awareness, athleticism, and provides immediate barrel feedback.
It is a tool that can disrupt pitcher timing/flow/comfort, and defensive alignments which creates gaps and opportunities for more base hits. It gives you an offensive outlet if you’re being overpowered.
FIND A COACH WHO TEACHES EVERYTHING!
DON’T LIMIT YOUR KIDS’ OFFENSIVE DEVELOPMENT!

🚨BREAKING: The HERO who stopped the deadly Oregon elementary school shooting is reportedly being identified online as KAYLEB GIAMANCO!!
Kayleb is a father of two little girls who attend that very school. He reportedly lives nearby and was heading home on his lunch break when he heard gunshots and realized something horrific was happening at his daughters’ school!!
He reportedly ran toward the school, knowing his daughters were inside. I honestly cannot even imagine the fear that must’ve been going through him.
Kayleb deserves an ENORMOUS amount of gratitude for stepping in when those children needed help most. ❤️🙏 he’s a HERO!!
