To a certain degree every coach only cares about their sport. Also please don't tell us what is right in this area.

Silo mentality.
The fact that a coach only cares about HIS sport and be damned what anyone else thinks is something every staff deals with daily.
When you put it out there like this, it’s a really bad look.
BTW, his SID would still be w/men’s basketball when soccer resumes.
Well said Randy. That you for making a common sense observation. It is nice that people have opinions on this, but maybe we should stick to the soccer student- athletes and soccer coaches that this affects. This is a POSITIVE moment, please stop painting it otherwise!!

No disrespect but all of you opposed for this reason fails to mention we are playing games in the spring now
Our strength staff, athletic trainers are already working in the spring. Our SID’s to an extent as well.
Facilities are being used for spring games
So SID’s and a few facility people have to work 15 hours a semester longer on game days and that outweighs student health, safety, welfare, and by the way academics? SMH

Please make sure you reach out to your NCAA Division 1 Soccer Coaches and administrators. The NCAA Division 1 men's soccer redistribution of the playing season/flex model is an important proposal. Some universities are already coming up with the reasons for it not to happen. Make sure you are heard. This is the most important things to happen to the Men's college game in the last 50 years. Please make you a voice heard. We talk about student athlete welfare. This directly positively affects student athletes welfare. Let's win this battle.

Chris Fowler: “Coaching is a calling more than a profession.”
Long hours. Real criticism. Sacrifices few see.
But the impact can last a lifetime.
That’s why we coach.

Nick Saban says he had lived his entire life like he was in a hurry and didn’t even realize it
“When I retired, and I don’t know if I ever shared this with anybody, I spent 50 years of my life being in a hurry and didn’t know it.”
“I retired and the cars are backed up on the bridge and it goes down to one lane. In the old days, I would be the guy that passed all the cars up and cut in at the last minute in front of somebody.”
“I sat there with Miss Terry in the car. She says, ‘You mean you’re not going to pass everybody illegally and cut in?’ I said, ‘We’re not in a hurry.’”
“But it’s the first time when I retired that I realized that I wasn’t in a hurry. And I was in a hurry for 50 years and didn’t know it.”
“I was always hurrying up to the next thing. Solve the next problem, go to the next thing. And you talk about relieving stress, that relieves stress better than anything. I just noticed it in that circumstance. Not cutting into traffic and waiting my turn.”

Mike Tomlin with a must-listen speech on resilience
"The first 5 minutes never decide the outcome of the game."
"You may have what you perceive to be failure. Press on with the same spirit and determination that's allowed you to assemble here today."
Resilience is a choice.
It's a choice to endure.
1000% CORRECT. People either give the team energy or take away energy. This isn't just about players only!!!
