There are a lot of GREAT people doing things the right way in basketball.
There are GREAT trainers. Just because you see a trainer on social media doing 7–8 dribble combo moves doesn’t mean every trainer is bad. Kids NEED skill development.
There are GREAT travel ball platforms. One bad experience shouldn’t define them all. Kids need opportunities to apply their skill set in real game situations. There’s no substitute for GAME REPS.
There are GREAT high school coaches. Don’t let the coach who doesn’t hold offseason workouts or open gyms ruin your perception of the ones who sacrifice their time-often with only a handful of players showing up to help kids get better.
There are GREAT travel ball coaches. Don’t let the coach who acts a fool overshadow the coaches sacrificing their time, energy, and MONEY every week to pour into student-athletes.
Stop judging an entire group by the worst example you’ve seen. 💯

Opportunity tonight 7pm @CoachNewzSkillz to be evaluated by Coach Newz or just to come in and get some work. On campus at Fairmont Senior High School. Message for information 😈

The one thing I’ll NEVER take for granted is the fact that college coaches reach out to our organization in and out of season. They give feedback about our kids who attend their elite camps. Trust has definitely been built over the years but we’re still thankful for it.

The weekend is here. If you think you’re a college level athlete make the time this weekend to email prospective schools you realistically could play at. Help your own brand by helping your own brand. Ask if you can come watch a practice as well.

The Young Gunz came in to work with @CoachReignMaker last night during @CoachNewzSkillz and got it in. Skill development that turns into on court play and success. Back in the lab tonight at 6pm for anyone who wants to get better 🏀

Ben McCollum keeps putting defenses in the same bind:
On ball screen:
→ Go under → shoot.
→ Go over → play 2-on-1.
Off ball screen:
→ Big drops → attack space
→ Low man tags → kick
→ Guard trails → keep him behind
→ Defense switches → attack matchup

Excited for this one as interest has been coming in statewide. Regional tournament play in the spring with the opportunity if good enough to play the @BigShotsGlobal circuit schedule. @CoachNewzSkillz included in season for players who make our teams. #CultureMatters😈
