Brady Smiley

Just saw an Aberg press conference about nerves going into the final round with the lead. He talked about how when he gets nervous everything speeds up, he walks faster, breathes faster, talks faster … so he understands this and makes a conscious effort in these situations to slow everything down… walk slow, breathe slow, talk slow, slow practice swings….. this reminds me when I was in AAA I didn’t make the team to start the year in 2011 when I thought I should have … I had a great spring training so was confident going into the season… I started the year 6/50 with zero power… I was in my own head thinking I just blew my shot at getting to the big leagues … our hitting coordinator Ronnie Ortegon (absolute stud) comes in town and I have a shitty BP and we sit and talk right before the game … he said all I want you to do today is slow everything down to half speed … breathe slow , swing slow on deck …. I shit you not, I go 5 for 5 with 4 doubles and a HR and was hitting over 300 within a few weeks and the rest is history …. There’s a lesson in that 🔥🔥
