Such a fun story. The Utah Utes are OTU 🗣️
2027 NFL Draft Preview: Zereoue Williams OT | Utah A lot of buzz has been made about top 5 level potential and for good reason, his athletic ceiling is the closest thing to Lane Johnson we’ve seen coming out of college at 6’8 and 315 lbs. But the floor is also incredibly low. For now his grade in this class for me is a work in progress. What do you think?

“Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program, so you can't put anything above that...” - Pete Carroll
Any football coach at any level lives by this cardinal rule “It’s the Jimmie’s and joes not the X’s and O’s” You are out of your mind if you think for one second Eric Morris is not forever grateful for Drew Mestemaker. Or Lincoln Riley & Baker Mayfield. Or let’s look at the nfl. What’s Bill Belicheck without Tom Brady? Andy Reid without Mahomes? The relationship between player and coach is symbiotic. You can’t operate at a high level without great coaches and great players. You both need each other to be successful. If you believe otherwise you simply do not understand the game of football.

Potential Cost? Conditional day 3 pick Calvin Ridley: (1-6) Titans Rumored Fit: Chiefs Potential Cost? 2027 6th round pick Dark Horse Movers: Brian Thomas Jr & Garrett Wilson. The only way either of these players end up being moved is if a 2028 first round selection is offered. Otherwise they will be remaining on there respective teams.

The Curious Case of Drew Mestemaker. Less than two years ago, he was a walk-on at North Texas who had never started a varsity game at quarterback. Today, he’s a favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. And for good reason. Mestemaker has the prototypical size, arm talent, and intangibles NFL teams covet. He makes the wow throws, delivers in big moments, and creates both inside and outside of structure. More importantly, he’s helped Eric Morris bring Oklahoma State back into national relevance in a single season. But I think there’s something being overlooked in his meteoric rise. Consider the sheer number of transitions he’s made in such a short period. From an overlooked high school prospect to a star at North Texas, then into the Power Four spotlight, and now potentially the NFL. He’s barely had time to settle into one level of football before being asked to conquer the next. There’s a reason Bill Parcells famously valued quarterbacks with at least 30 collegiate starts. Experience matters. Adversity matters. The opportunity to develop, lead, and mature before taking on the demands of an NFL franchise matters. And I wonder if Mestemaker recognizes that himself. By all accounts, he loves Stillwater, his teammates, and the coach who believed in him when few others did. He followed Morris to Oklahoma State with a commitment to building something, and that program still has plenty left to accomplish. There is something to be said for finishing what you started. I understand why the NFL wants Drew Mestemaker right now. But the more I consider his journey, the more convinced I become that he won’t declare for the 2027 NFL Draft. Not because he isn’t talented enough to make the leap, but because another year might be the most valuable thing he can give himself.

Once you realize Adam Schefter doesn’t do or know anything. You don’t look deep into what he says. If it’s not an announcement don’t pay him any mind

It’s not even a debate. The real debate is if Drew Mestemaker will declare for the 2027 NFL Draft or return to OSU

“While we have no use for our 6’4 210 pound Demi god at wide reciever and could most definitely receive day one draft capital for him. We aren’t gonna move him cause we are 6-2” Been a big fan of the jags this year and a big fan of Liam Coen. But if you have a player with this level of talent and cannot get him on the field sell while he still has value.
Kansas City had interest in Brian Thomas Jr., but the Jaguars have been less inclined to sell, per @AlbertBreer “While he hasn’t been statistically productive, and isn’t the best fit for Liam Coen’s scheme, Thomas brings a downfield element that’s really important in keeping defenses honest against the run, and opening things up underneath for Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington.”

Also expecting the New Orleans Saints to make an offer for Josh Sweat or Khalil Mack. At 2-5 they are 1 GB for tied for 1st place in the NFC South.

The Minnesota Vikings are (6-1) and have a Super Bowl level defense. They have arguably the best WR in the game in his prime. A top 10 LT. And an adequate line. In the KOC era there has been this obsession with balancing two timelines at once. And we’ve seen how that worked most famously with the dubs in the nba. It didn’t. Did they ever stop and think what if your time is now? And if a QB is the only thing holding you back from getting the first Lombardi trophy in franchise history… Go get your QB for that window. Even if it is a first round pick, there’s not a QB worth taking in this next draft anyways. #Skol
Should the Vikings make a move for Kirk Cousins?

The Jacksonville Jaguars window is this year. They have two future head coaches at both coordinator spots in OC Grant Udinski & DC Anthony Campinele. We’ve seen how difficult it is to replace coordinators in the following years—from the lions, 49ers, and Rams. I don’t think there is a player at the QB position alive playing better ball right now than Trevor Lawrence. The run game is cooking, and this defense is LEGIT. Will they make a move at the trade deadline?
Grant Udinski will be a superstar HC for a team very soon. Its clear he understands the game in a way that commands respect from players, and teams will covet that

God is good !!
STATEMENT FROM JACK CAMPBELL My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers, and support we’ve received over the past few days. It means more to us than words can express. I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time. I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better. My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust in that plan. I know there may be challenges ahead, but with my faith, my family, and so many people in my corner, I know we’ll get through this. I especially want to thank the athletic trainers and medical personnel who responded and cared for me on the field. I know those were difficult moments, and I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and care you showed me. The way you handled everything and looked after me when I needed it most is something I’ll never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I also can’t say enough about the incredible care I’ve received from the medical team at Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Lions medical staff. They’ve been amazing to me and my family throughout this process, and I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done. To my teammates, coaches, and everyone in the Lions organization, I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people. One thing I’ve learned about Detroit is that this city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. That’s exactly how I’m going to approach this challenge. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough. God is good. My faith is strong. Jack Campbell

Oh I didn’t realize that a guy employed by the nfl now for his “football expertise” is now an open political commentator. How about you realize who you are—a football content creator.
If Texas really is a purple and/or slightly blue state now, it becomes exceedingly hard to find a path to the Presidency for the GOP. Texas is the central pillar of their math. Nothing else even comes close.

I’m the biggest fan of the personality that is Cam Skattebo. As a player he has not proven that he is even a starting level player in this league. Why do you think the New York Giants are hell bent on trying to pull off a trade for Jonathan Taylor? The cognitive dissonance surrounding the product on the field with Cam Skattebo is similar to his teammate Jameis Winston early in his career. Also, Bhayshul Tuten has clearly produced the most out of this class cause of his situation, Qunishon Judkins has looked comparable, and I am still of the opinion Ashton Jeanty has more tread on his tires.
Who would’ve thought Cam Skattebo would end up being the best back in this stacked class

17 anonymous GMs and scouts were polled about the 2027 QB class. All 17 agreed on one player only. Drew Mestemaker. They believe he is a bonafide Top 10 guy. Otherwise, no more than 2 scouts could agree on a grade of the other 11 guys included in the poll. Where does that leave us evaluating the 2027 NFL draft? Even the so called professionals—who historically have a less than 40% hit rate on first round QBs—don’t even know what they are doing. Think for yourself. Watch the tape yourself. And formulate an opinion. Credentialism means nothing.

The Detroit Lions figured out Brian Flores…. To a certain degree And the biggest reason why was the absolute clinic Penei Sewell put up in the trenches. Is it too early to say he is the favorite for Protector of the Year?

Well the ROI on those picks is already here. Jeffrey Simmons made Grey Zabel look like he’s never started a game in the nfl. Nice rip, great posture. Gets Zabel to put his weight in his toes and lunge, auto sack. Welcome to the Windy City #DaBears
