When I retired after 30 years on the @NAU_Football play-by-play headset, I said "I still have a lot of gas in my tank." I couldn't have known that "gas" was actually diesel! When I said "I'm 100% all in supporting @Coachbwright4's Lumberjack football team", AND Coach Wright said he wanted me to still be a part of his program, THIS wasn't on my retirement bingo card.....until it was! The Jacks needed an Equipment Truck driver this season...so when I was asked if I'd consider getting behind the wheel, it was an easy answer...Hell, yes! When I drove the fully loaded, 26-foot, NAU Football Peterbuilt Equipment Truck out of the Skydome yesterday and started southbound on the 17 for Tucson, I was singing the song "East Bound and Down" out loud...not as well as Jerry Reed, but maybe pretty close! 🤣 Tucson, St. George, Bozeman, Pocatello, Cedar City, San Luis Obispo and wherever we go in the playoffs, I'll be rolling with Lumberjack EQ Truck, with QB @TyPennington14 featured on the driver's side! If you see me on the road, give me a wave and a honk, I'll pull the chain in the cab on that big truck horn!!! I'll be sharing pics, updates and what promises to be a lot of fun experiences from the road with Lumberjack Football, so stayed tuned to this page! For now...I'm in the Old Pueblo, in the shadow of the Santa Catalina Mountains, for our game tomorrow night at the Arizona Wildcats! GO JACKS!!! 🪓 🏈 🚛 😎 💯 #RaiseTheFlag | #7KBuilt #BigSkyFB P.S. I'm taking suggestions for a cool hashtag this season...send your suggestions my way! Let's have fun with this! – at Tucson, AZ
