The Sussexes’ Nottingham charity event exposes a truth the Royal Rota would rather avoid: you cannot manufacture public affection through favourable headlines, managed appearances, or endless attempts to control the narrative.
Genuine connection cannot be scripted, and authenticity cannot be faked.
The world has changed. The public no longer relies on a handful of royal correspondents to decide whom it should admire. Social media has broken that monopoly. People can witness events, share experiences, challenge narratives, and form their own opinions.
Instead of endlessly scrutinising Harry and Meghan, perhaps the real question is why William and Kate’s carefully managed public image inspires such relentless efforts at comparison.
You cannot lecture people into admiration or manufacture warmth through PR.
The greatest threat to a carefully curated image is a public that no longer needs permission to see through it.

Tea for Two in Support of Malala Fund. This International Day of the Girl, in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies will be donating 100% of net proceeds from their jams and teas in support of the Malala Fund and its vital work to ensure that every girl has access to free, safe, quality education.
Archewell Philanthropies
is home to the charitable work of H&M and their children. Malala Fund's mission is to ensure every girl's right to 12 years of education, and to create a more equal, safer & healthier world by making sure all girls can go to and complete school.
Now this is what we can all call charitable work. Giving to important causes. Not PR, not lip service but real and effective service. H&M have always supported and promoted chosen and important charities and their involvement has made a big difference to the communities the charities serve. When will the leftovers ever understand what their role is supposed to be, because all they currently do is done to benefit themselves. Shame on them for not using their platform to do good.

A dear friend of mine handed me this writing found from a nursing home resident and I want to share it with you...
“I am 82 years old, I have 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a room of 12 square meters.
I no longer have a home or expensive things, but I have someone who will clean my room, prepare food and change my bedding, measure my blood pressure and weigh me.
I no longer have the laughter of my grandchildren around me, I don't see them growing, hugging and arguing. Some come to me every 15 days, some every three or four months, and some never.
I don't bake cakes anymore, I don't dig up the garden. I still have hobbies and I like to read, but my eyes quickly hurt.
I don’t know how much longer, but I have to get used to this loneliness. Here at this home, I lead group work and help those who are worse than me as much as I can.
Until recently, I read aloud to an immobile woman in the room next to me, we used to sing together, but she died the other day.
They say life is getting longer. Why? When I’m alone, I can look at photos of my family and memories I brought from home. And that's all. I miss them.
I hope that the next generations will understand that families are born to have a future (with children) and that they do not forget about the family even in old age.”
PLEASE DON'T FORGET YOUR LOVED ONES.

Remember when we were told the EU would never want Britain back?
Macron: “Welcome back.”
Spain: its arms are open.
The European Commission: ready to talk.
Britain is changing its mind about Brexit.
And Europe has noticed.

A British passport should open doors for our children.
I want them to have the choice to work in Paris, study in Madrid or build a business in Berlin.
Restoring mutual Freedom of Movement would put those possibilities back within reach.

This mailman started writing fake letters for a dog because he could not stand seeing her disappointed. Back in 2016, Australian mail carrier Martin Studer had one very enthusiastic customer, a golden retriever named Pippa, who every morning would wait by the gate for Martin, gently take the family’s mail from his hand, and proudly carry it back inside as if collecting the post were her official job.
On days when there was no mail, Pippa would be left waiting with nothing to collect, and Martin could not bear to disappoint her, so he started carrying blank postal cards in his bag and writing “Mail for Pippa” on them [1]. Whenever there was no real post, he would hand Pippa one of the fake letters so she could still complete her daily mission.
One mailman, one golden retriever, and zero real letters were needed to make her day. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can mean everything to a dog

Yesterday Jo & Earl were married but before their beautiful wedding another incredible situation occurred
Jo's bridesmaids were helping her in to her gown when the zipper broke. The girls were all surprisingly calm but weren't having much luck fixing the zipper. The neighbour living next door to the house they had rented for the wedding had his garage door open when I pulled up so I suggested they run over and ask if he had pliers. One of the bridesmaids quickly went over and spoke with their neighbour.
She came back with a handful of tools and some interesting information: the next door neighbour was hosting a family of Syrian refugees and the father was a master tailor and would be happy to help if we weren't successful. After a few minutes of further attempts there was a knock on the door and the neighbour along with the tailor & his son arrived to help, sewing kit in tow. I went out to take some photos of the groomsmen and came back to find the tailor putting the finishing stitches on her dress. The neighbour David told me they had just moved to Canada four days ago. They didn't speak a word of english, and had been communicating by using Google Translate. The young boy looked at his Dad, the girls around him, at my camera and back to his Dad about a hundred times. He was curious and in seemingly good spirits. I couldn't help but stand back in awe of the situation.
Every weekend I take photos of people on the happiest days of their lives, and today one man who has seen some of the worst things our world has to offer came to the rescue. I am so proud to live in Canada, a country who has opened our doors to refugees countless times. I'm in awe of the families who have welcomed these strangers in to their homes and lives, and I'm inspired by the resilience of the Syrian people.
We are truly blessed
