Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been named the 8th best park in the world, the 4th best park in Europe and the best park in the UK, according to TripAdvisor Global Awards. A remarkable achievement! Some might disagree, but many people clearly love the charm and nostalgia of the British seaside park aesthetic. Well done @Pleasure_Beach 🎢🫶
Pleasure Beach has chosen to open today despite Storm Boelo, however most rides are closed due to the 60mph winds. All visitors will have their tickets revalidated, but was it worth opening at all?
This series of The Celebrity Traitors is terrible. All the good people have either been murdered or banished in the first couple of weeks, and now we are left with boring contestants (with the exception of Michael Sheen).
Bore off and bring the feral public players 😂😂
The single rider queues on Hyperia and Saw are a GODSEND @THORPEPARK yesterday RAP and Fastrack were all the way to the entrance on both coasters and the main queues were 120 minutes plus and both times we got on in 10 minutes using single rider. Felt like Kings 😂😂
I’m tired, cold, hungry and it’s been the longest day ever and frustrating in many ways, but Hyperia at night is something else 🪽
I’m absolutely gutted at how terrible @thorpepark has been this weekend. It was my favourite theme park in the UK by a mile but it’s been so bad I doubt I will come back. Alton Towers was so much better last week, and I never thought I’d say that.
Nearly 5pm and we’ve been on Samurai and Hyperia. It’s busy, very busy, but rides are breaking down all over the place. I think Thorpe Park is trying to out do Alton Towers for most disappointing park at the moment.
Thorpe Park was the main reason I renewed my Merlin Annual Pass, and whilst it hasn’t quite sunk to the levels of Alton Towers it is definitely not the great park it was anymore. You just get the feeling that no one cares anymore, a “this will do” trajectory all-round.
Been at Thorpe Park Resort since 10am and we’ve only been on Samurai. Downtime and slow operations again. Are Merlin seriously squandering maintenance budgets that much? I’ve never seen anything like it…
I can’t wait for Universal to open in the UK. Finally a good British theme park that isn’t Paultons Park. Finally a resort to show up Merlin for the Mickey Mouse company that it is. FINALLY.
I thought the staff at Towers were miserable last week, but they’re like the cast of Balamory compared to some of the staff at Thorpe Park today. Honestly I’ve never seen so much sighing, yawning or scowling at a theme park. Cheer up, seasons nearly over 👍
Honestly operations at Thorpe Park are absolutely shocking today. It’s like you can’t have a good time at a Merlin park anymore because Merlin don’t care about anything apart from scraping together pennies to pay their shareholders. Sad 😢
Stealth being on one train is annoying @THORPEPARK
Other train hibernating or hiding from the ghosts? 👻 #frightnights
Energylandia are building world-class coasters like they’re playing in sandbox mode and literally every single time I’ve been the place has been empty. I’ve been several times, and it’s never been busy. A dream come true park for enthusiasts! ❤️
There’s no magic at Alton Towers anymore. Barely any music, the staff we have encounter so far are utterly miserable and unhappy, rides closed everywhere (can’t be helped due to weather), but what is this place anymore? The park map is nice I guess?
Arguably the most controversial “modern” coaster ever built, X2, is no more. The coaster that bankrupted Arrow, and that has been subject to a number of lawsuits over alleged brain injuries is being retired for good #SixFlagsMagicMountain #X2
I honestly admire @MandsThompson so much. She really deserves all of her accolades. I could sit and listen to her talk about the industry all day. The new podcast on the @Pleasure_Beach YouTube channel is fantastic! Check it out, a great listen.
