Transparency used to be optional in crypto fundraising. Now it’s how teams close rounds. → Regular updates, including the bad weeks → A treasury anyone can check → Vesting and unlocks on-chain, not in a PDF → Progress you can see without asking Investors have learned to read silence as a risk. The teams that show their work get funded. The rest get questions.

Green flags when you're thinking about referring a project: They're already building, not just planning They have a community before they have a token They can explain what they do in one sentence They've thought about what happens after the raise The last one is the rarest. It's also the one that matters most.

The clearest sign a community will hold together after TGE isn't the Telegram size, the launch day, or how active things looked during the raise. It's whether people ask the team hard questions when things aren't going well. Communities built on hype are easy to spot in hindsight. Everyone agrees, everyone's bullish, the group feels alive. Then the price drops and the people who were there for the energy quietly leave. The ones that survive are different. Some percentage of holders will say "I don't understand why you made that call" and the team actually responds. That kind of pushback is a good sign. It means people are paying attention for reasons beyond the price.

The perfect token launch is hard to come by. Every launch is optimizing for something: speed, hype, fairness, distribution, liquidity. But you can’t maximize all of them at once. Every launch design is a set of tradeoffs. The problem is most teams pretend those tradeoffs don’t exist. The better approach is to acknowledge them and design around them intentionally. That's what separates a well-designed launch from one that just looks good until it doesn't.

The projects that fail loudly get all the attention. The ones that fail quietly are worth paying more attention to. Most crypto projects don't blow up. They just stop. The team goes quiet, the roadmap stops updating, and the Telegram gets a little slower until nobody's checking it anymore. Managing a peak is hard, but it's a problem most teams would take. The real test is what happens after the attention moves on. Most teams never figured that part out.

The first buy in a presale is easy: FOMO and conviction are high. The second buy is when you actually find out what you believe: when the price drops after TGE and the initial excitement fades. The narrative that made sense at the sale price is harder to hold down 40%. Most people don't average down. They wait for a recovery that may or may not come. The investors who do well in presales usually had one thing figured out before they bought: what it would take to make them buy again.

Web3 has a dirty secret. The industry that promised to fix broken systems still hires through Discord DMs and dead job boards. One platform is about to change that. And the first 5,000 people in get something nobody else will 🧵

Your raise is not your validation. The market will fill your sale but that doesn't always mean the market believes in you. It means you created enough urgency or novelty to move capital at a specific moment. Treat a successful raise as permission to execute, not proof that you’ve already won.

Everything a project promises off-chain is just words. Sometimes genuine, sometimes not, but never enforceable. The smart contract is the only promise that actually gets enforced. Most retail investors never read it. They read the pitch deck, the Twitter thread, the Telegram announcements, and make their decisions from there. The actual mechanics of vesting, token release, and treasury control all live on-chain. If a promise isn't in the contract, it's a courtesy. Worth keeping that in mind.

The size of someone's presale allocation tells you a lot about how they actually think about risk. The person who puts in the minimum is usually testing the process, treating it like a lottery ticket. Low stakes, low conviction. Usually fine. The person who puts in the maximum is harder to read. High conviction and FOMO look identical going in, and by TGE it's typically too late to tell the difference. The person who puts in exactly what they can afford to lose is the clearest signal of all. They've already done the math on the downside and they're comfortable with what losing looks like. Most people fall into the first two categories. The third tends to make better decisions over time.

3 questions worth asking before any presale. None of these questions guarantee a win, but they eliminate a lot of bad bets.
