During a silent patrol, the crew of a Royal Navy Amphion-class submarine investigates an unfamiliar sound echoing through the hull.
In the 125-year history of the Royal Navy Submarine Service nearly 6000 submariners and over 150 submarines never returned. Lest we forget.

Patrick Stewart thought professionalism meant keeping the fun out of the workplace.
He arrived on Star Trek: The Next Generation treating the set like a serious theatrical production, while his castmates wanted room to joke around. He believed discipline was the standard. Denise Crosby helped him see that his seriousness was becoming its own limitation.
The uncomfortable part is how easily competence turns into rigidity. Stewart was not wrong to care about the work. He was wrong to assume that enjoying the work would weaken it.
Learning to be silly did not mean lowering his standards. It meant understanding that control over the atmosphere is not the same as control over the quality.
Sometimes the person protecting professionalism is the one making the room harder to work in.

Sir Patrick Stewart told a hilarious story on Graham Norton’s show about how STAR TREK NEXT GENERATION is unavoidable to see on TV. #RIPPatrickStewart #RIPSirPatrickStewart

RIP Patrick Stewart. What an actor. I still can’t believe he agreed to do this scene. And he didn’t even mind when I ruined every take. Legend.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Oh how sad!
What a guy! What a life. Tragically short. I particularly admire his refusal to “clean ship” for the visit of a Prime Minister, insisting that the PM should see things as they were. I personally hate “stand and show” for visits. John Major would have appreciated his stance.

The military will teach you how to do 40 hours of mandatory online training in 30 minutes.
It’s been a painful two days with our autistic child. The type that debilitates her life and ours. It reinforces how our lives are dominated by it. It’s not a position we would like anyone else to endure but hard for other people (parents) to understand. 😢
