राहुल जी, आप माननीय प्रधानमंत्री जी से चर्चा के लिए स्थान चुनने को कहते हैं। वह स्थान पहले से ही उपस्थित है: संसद, जहाँ आप नेता प्रतिपक्ष हैं।
कल ही, गृह मंत्री श्री @AmitShah जी ने एसआईआर (SIR) और ईवीएम (EVM) पर चर्चा के लिए एक विशेष सत्र का प्रस्ताव रखा था। आप संसद में चर्चा के लिए वही उत्साह क्यों नहीं दिखाते जो आप सोशल मीडिया पर चुनौतियां देते समय दिखाते हैं?
उत्तर मांगने के साथ-साथ उन्हें सुनने का दायित्व भी होता है।
ऐसे कई अवसर आए हैं जब आपने और आपके दल ने संसद से तब वाक आउट किया है जब सरकार आपके आरोपों का उत्तर दे रही थी। आप चर्चा के लिए इतने उत्सुक होने का दावा कैसे कर सकते हैं जब आप दूसरे पक्ष को सुनने के लिए रुकते तक नहीं हैं?
बात केवल वाक आउट तक ही सीमित नहीं है। आपने और इंडी गठबंधन (INDI Alliance) ने कार्यवाही में बार-बार बाधा उत्पन्न की है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप पूरी-की-पूरी बैठकें व्यर्थ हो गई हैं। यदि आप चर्चा के इतने ही इच्छुक हैं, तो आप सबसे पहले संसद को सुचारू रूप से कार्य क्यों नहीं करने देते?
और फिर वह 'मॉक संसद' है जिसका आपने हाल ही में कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के आवास पर आयोजन किया। स्पष्ट रूप से कहूँ तो, वह 'मॉक संसद' से अधिक 'संसद का उपहास' (mockery of Parliament) था। उस कृत्य के लिए आपको समय और उत्साह मिल गया। निश्चित रूप से, वास्तविक संसद कम-से-कम इतने सम्मान की तो अधिकारिणी है।
आप लोकतंत्र और संविधान की रक्षा के विषय में निरंतर उपदेश देते हैं। परंतु वह सम्मान उन संस्थाओं के प्रति आपके आचरण में भी परिलक्षित होना चाहिए जिनकी स्थापना उनके द्वारा की गई है।
जहाँ तक आपके द्वारा बिना किसी गंभीरता के उठाए गए विषयों की बात है, विशिष्ट आरोप और उनकी पुष्टि के लिए प्रमाण प्रस्तुत करें। केवल आरोपों की एक लंबी सूची बना देने से आपका पक्ष सशक्त नहीं हो जाता। नेता प्रतिपक्ष के रूप में, आपसे कुछ गंभीरता और उत्तरदायित्व की अपेक्षा की जाती है।
आप कहते हैं, "डरो मत”। तो तथ्य प्रस्तुत करें, परीक्षण का सामना करें और उत्तर सुनने के लिए रुकें। सदन में चर्चा के उन मानदंडों का पालन करें जिनकी अपेक्षा आप दूसरों से करते हैं।
Rahul ji, you ask the Prime Minister to choose a venue for a debate. There is already one: Parliament, where you happen to be the LoP.
Just yesterday, Home Minister Shri @AmitShah offered a special session to debate SIR and EVMs. Why not show the same enthusiasm for a debate in Parliament that you show while issuing challenges on social media?
Demanding answers also carries an obligation to hear them.
There have been several occasions when you and your party have walked out of Parliament while the government was responding to your allegations. How do you claim to be so eager for a debate when you don’t even stay to hear the other side?
It doesn’t stop at walkouts. You and the INDI Alliance have repeatedly disrupted proceedings, leading to entire sittings being washed out. If you are so keen on debating, why not allow Parliament to function in the first place?
And then there’s the mock Parliament you recently held at the Congress President’s residence. Frankly, that was more a ‘mockery of Parliament’ than a ‘mock Parliament’. You found the time and enthusiasm for that exercise. Surely, the real Parliament deserves at least as much.
You speak endlessly about protecting democracy and the Constitution. But that respect should also reflect in how you treat the institutions they have established.
As for the issues you frivolously raise, bring specific allegations and evidence to back them up. Simply throwing together a long list of accusations doesn’t make your case any stronger. As LoP, you are expected to show some seriousness and responsibility.
You say, “Daro mat.”
Then bring the facts, face the scrutiny and stay to hear the answers. In the House, uphold the standards of debate you demand from others.

The World Bank’s October 2026 Poverty & Equity Brief records India’s progress as one of the fastest poverty declines in the world.
The report highlights several significant gains:
✅ 49.6 crore people moved above the lower-middle-income poverty line of $4.20 a day between 2011 and 2023, with the poverty rate declining from 57.7% to 16.1%.
✅ Extreme poverty declined from 27.1% to 2.6% over the same period, measured at $3 a day. Both monetary poverty thresholds use 2021 purchasing power parity.
✅ Employment increased by 13.4 crore people between 2017 and 2023, nearly twice the increase in the working-age population.
✅ Rural women accounted for much of the employment gain, entering paid work and increasing the number of earners in their households.
✅ Both rural and urban households experienced substantial welfare gains, with faster progress in rural India narrowing the rural–urban gap.
✅ Access to electricity reached 99% of the population, according to the report’s 2022 survey data.
The World Bank identifies strong consumption growth, rising employment - especially among women—and expanded social transfers, including food subsidies, as major drivers.
Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi, the Government’s sustained policy efforts are yielding tangible results, strengthening the foundations for inclusive growth and greater economic opportunity. This is the reason why NDA govt wins people’s trust and mandate of our citizens.

- In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle.
- Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti.
- B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s.
- Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses.
The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised.
The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth.
All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday.
