In an interview with Paul Thorpe broadcast on 11 May 2026, I alleged that Mr Harborne had fixed the 2019 General Election result by conspiring with the then Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and the then leader of the Brexit Party, Nigel Farage, to ensure a majority for Mr Johnson's party by agreeing to pay each of them £1 million, which he duly did in November 2022, in return for the Brexit Party standing down all 317 of its candidates for Conservative-held seats. I made that allegation in reliance on information I had been given. I now accept that the information did not provide a sufficient basis for so serious an allegation, and I should not have made it. I withdraw that allegation and apologise to Mr. Harborne for the distress caused.

Today I was contacted by The Sun for comment in regards to a piece on Restore Britain which involves allegations of severe sexual misconduct from an individual connected to them. The priority in this situation is the safety of the victims, and unfortunately I was not in a position to prevent the article from being published, despite my attempts. I wanted this article cancelled due to my concerns for them. The questions I was asked were phrased in such a way that it was to set up certain figures within Restore who were not at any fault, and as such I have clarified that said individuals were not responsible at all. I have been entirely honest in my replies to the questions due to the nature of the situation, and I would rather there be truth within this article as to who was at fault, rather than blame being levied at innocent parties within Restore who did everything they could. Nearly everyone in Restore who knew about the issue did everything they could, and those people should not be tarred with the brush of complacency and outright negligence of others within the party. If my replies are maliciously manipulated by the Sun, I will publish them in full here. I am deeply sorry to any innocent party in Restore who is effected by this, but understand I have not acted maliciously towards Restore in any way.
