Resilience in negotiation isn’t just about managing what’s thrown at you. It’s about thriving, pivoting, and even using disruption to gain an edge. Are you using below-the-surface Labels to uncover your counterparts' real core values and needs? That’s Tactical Empathy in action.

Tired of looking at the Cursor dashboard to see how much usage your enterprise plan has left? Our friends at @ClearMeasure built a (free!) VSX tool to put the information right in your editor. Pretty cool! clearmeasure.com/cursor-usag…

"design patterns don't matter because AI writes code" is like saying "architectural blueprints don't matter because power tools cut wood faster." Ex: architectural (distributed, messaging) patterns like say a claim check or cache aside, do you need them? Depends on the context. But you can't say you do or don't unless you know what they are and the trade-offs. Otherwise you're just offloading decisions.
do you remember software design patterns we don't give a fuck about them anymore

"Architecture and high quality code will 10x decrease your token costs." That is the most important quote I've heard to date.
Replying to @ColinPear
Absolutely! Our primary jobs might end up being “token optimizers”. Architecture and high quality code will 10x decrease your token costs. I think token costs, dependency on one token vendor, and potential IP theft are the important topics at the moment r.

Microsoft just gave Windows its own built-in way to run Linux containers. WSL Containers is now generally available, letting you build and run Linux containers directly from Windows with wslc. It brings isolated containers, faster Windows-to-Linux file access and a new networking model. And Compose support is already coming next. Linux containers on Windows just became a first-party Microsoft feature. Full announcement: blogs.windows.com/windowsdev…

Just listened to a great discussion on the @azuredevopsshow with @MarkMichaelis. He answers the question of the importance of coding knowledge in the AI world. It was in a way oddly comforting to hear this talk as a software professional. youtu.be/wSMCv4iBNv0?is=OoEZ…

Now, with AI, we have even MORE of this happening. Folks, seriously, this hasn't ever gone well. #UseWhatWorks usewhatworks.org/
Another team build a customized framework that does everything (see Inner Platform Effect.) Today I have to meet with them and they will pressure us to start using their platform instead of just writing our own code like our forefathers before us. 1/

The Fear of Shipping Software Is a Design Flaw. If shipping is something you only do in the off hours of the "slowest traffic" day of the week then you need to figure out why that is. Why is that your reality? Fear of shipping is a flaw. Don't normalize it. Most companies don't even realize they are afraid. That should change. confidenceengineering.com/bl…

In this video, @dvdstelt takes a different look at microservices and discusses why technology choice doesn’t change coupling or autonomy at all, and how we need to take a step back and stop sharing data between services particular.net/videos/autono…

Ummm, say what! Whoa.
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI? I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev • 20-200x faster • 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free) • Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

How "big" your user stories or work items are is of little consequence. What does matter is your historical throughput and cycle time for completing them. If you have that you can determine the probability of completing them within a certain amount of time.

Can we go back to just writting html, css, and Javascript for static websites; instead of trying to build out some ReactJS CMS that the engineer will use to update content?
