One of the best things about Babylon 5 was letting Walter Koenig play against the type we all knew him for and really show off some range. Treat yourself and watch some Babylon 5 and see Koenig play an absolutely terrifying and delightful freak.
I couldn’t find any Revolutionary Girl Utena “True” gifs anywhere so I had to take matters into my own hands.
He’ll always be Pavel Chekov to me (was a delight to revisit The Voyage Home this year, where he has some of his best moments from the movie series) but so too was he Babylon 5’s Alfred Bester. RIP.
Look, it had an ending that was retreading weak territory from other NuWho stories but there was a remarkably fresh and interesting approach to doing a Doctor Who story in the first half and I think that got proper praise
My watchlist is cheering with joy

Alas only got to 3 this week, but they were a pretty damn good crop. I enjoyed A Serious Man, and enjoyed being challenged by Japón, but seeing The Devils for the first time in a theater was undeniably the highlight of the week, filmwise.
Saw The Devils restoration in theaters last night. Honestly I’m a little insulted for the film that its reputation has been so defined by its most salacious scene, impactful though it is, because there’s some remarkably strong historical & political insight here done so uniquely.
Saw a true classic of cinema, went to go see a modern classic once again in theaters, quite enjoyed a very underseen Cambodian drama about a farming family’s struggle for survival, and finished things off with going to see something frankly dreadful in theaters.

You never *want* to be watching a relatively crummy transfer of a film, but there’s something inspirational about when the power of the compositions can soundly rise above the lacking fidelity when there’s no option but to resort to one.
