I agree with my Christian friends that many of the blessings of America are the blessings of their Christian faith brought to fruit. I have therefore written this short letter to them about why it has worked here in America so much more than anywhere else.

The city of Portlands budget hole in 2027 will be $250M+… business license taxes in free fall, reduced real property taxes and highest reduction in single family home asking price of any major city in America, hotels selling at 90% discounts… All brought to you by 40 years of shitty democrat (communist) policy and final nails in coffin of rank choice voting at 25% + 1 allowing DSA cosplay communist kids into office who have zero business acumen, leadership ability or common sense. The economic chain reaction isn’t complicated: When people stop feeling safe, foot traffic suffers. When foot traffic suffers, businesses struggle. When businesses struggle, property values and tax revenues come under pressure. Public safety and effective behavioral-health services are not luxuries. They are foundations of a functioning urban economy. Yet Portland’s leaders have too often treated enforcement, treatment, and accountability as though they conflict with compassion. They don’t. People experiencing addiction and mental illness deserve real help, and everyone else deserves safe streets. A serious government must deliver both. You cannot repair a damaged reputation with another task force, another slogan, or another tax increase. You repair it by restoring order, providing effective treatment, protecting commerce, and measuring results instead of celebrating intentions. Compassion without results is an empty promise. Policy without accountability is an expensive failure. And a city that refuses to govern effectively should not be surprised when investors, businesses, workers, and visitors decide to take their money elsewhere. @MayorKWilson @portlanddsa @mitch4portland @pnwpolicyangel @kanalforpdx @candaceforpdx @jamiedunphy @TeacherTiff4PDX portland.gov/mayor/keith-wil…

Oregon’s challenges are not inevitable. We don’t have to accept the status quo, and we don’t have to settle for less. I believe Oregon’s best days are still ahead. We can lead again. We can build again. And as governor, that’s exactly what I intend to do.

Portland has turned a toxic relationship into a model of government: when you can’t defend your decisions with facts, you weaponize shame, attack the messenger, and try to silence anyone who dares challenge the narrative. The result is a carefully curated echo chamber where feelings outrank facts, dissent is treated as heresy, and accountability is mistaken for aggression. But let someone with a spine of steel walk into the room and say, “The math doesn’t work, the policy is failing, and you’re destroying the plumbing that keeps this place functioning,” and watch the outrage erupt. Suddenly, the person asking for evidence becomes the villain. The person demanding accountability becomes the threat. And the people who can’t answer a straightforward question start attacking the character of whoever asked it. That isn’t strength. It’s intellectual insecurity dressed up as moral superiority. Portland’s political dysfunction increasingly resembles someone who demands all the benefits of a civilized society while refusing to accept the discipline, trade-offs, and responsibility required to sustain one. It wants the benefits without the bill, the compassion without consequences, and the authority to dictate without the burden of proving that any of it works. And when reality finally shows up with an invoice, the response isn’t to fix the numbers. It’s to attack whoever brought the calculator. That worldview is a house of cards built on slogans, selective outrage, and the assumption that anyone who challenges the narrative must be a bad person. But facts don’t care about your outrage. Arithmetic doesn’t submit to your ideology. And reality doesn’t owe your echo chamber an apology. You don’t get to build a cardboard castle, blame the wind when it collapses, and demand that everyone else pretend it was made of stone.

🚨A little Oregon history under Democrats: 1987: Vic Atiyeh, our last Republican governor, leaves office. Oregon high school seniors are tied for 2nd in the nation on the SAT among states that used it. Wow! 1990: Money magazine ranks Eugene the 6th BEST place to live in America. Salem, Portland and Medford also make the top 50. Today: Oregon ranks near the bottom in reading and math and dead last for unsheltered homelessness. But don't worry. Oregon Democrats have racked up plenty of other "wins." 👇 💉Drug overdose deaths: 1999: 6.1 per 100,000 2023: 40.8 per 100,000 Almost 7 times higher. Decriminalizing hard drugs worked out great, didn't it? 🏠Homelessness: 2014: 15 per 10,000 2024: 33 per 10,000 Worst of all 50 states. BRAVO, DEMOCRATS. 👏 Total homeless: 2020: 14,655 2024: 22,875 With our math scores, you may need help here. A bigger number is BAD. Top state income tax rate: 1987: 9% 2025: 9.9% Good news: you get to pay more for all these "wins." ✅Median home value: 1990: $67,100 Today: $477,600 A tent is cheaper. Just ask Portland. 🔴Portland homicides: 2022: 101, an all-time record. 🧑‍🎓4th-grade national test scores: 2024: 48th in math, 46th in reading. Don't worry, Democrats fixed it by dropping the graduation standards. The icing on the cake? 💸 Forcing Oregonians to pay for abortion up to birth. 💸 Paying for sex-rejecting procedures on confused minors, including mastectomies. 💸 Erasing women's and girls' sex-based rights for "gender identity" laws, putting men and boys in women's and girls' spaces. 💸 Tampon dispensers in every school bathroom in the state, boys' included, K through 12. About $5.6 million for the first two years, then roughly $2.8 million every year after. Oregon, it's time for a change. Vote common sense, Drazan & RED down the ballot by November 3.

I have to hand it to the Woke Right for their highly successful Doomer operation. They convinced a LOT of normie Republicans and most young ones that they voted for the guy who fixed it and then didn't. They did this not only so he'd fail but also to position themselves as the "tough guy" solution that won't when they get power. Very cynical. The truth is that Trump started a 20+ year cleanup process (optimistic, honestly) of a 50+ year demoralization and entryism campaign ("long march"), and then the Woke Right successfully accused him of failing for not getting it done in six months. They successfully made the voting base mad enough to believe these unrealistic things and that only desperate radicalism and maybe violence can actually solve the problem. This is all a self-serving lie, of course, but it worked. They never tried to explain the reality of the situation. They never tried to keep heads cool and focused and dealing with the real problem. They just whipped up mobs of young angry people and fools to believe Trump failed to keep his promises and do what he said he'd do. Constantly. From the start. Successful operation. Nicely run, guys.

BREAKING NEWS: In a potentially serious security breach, Oregon's Secretary of State's office reportedly exposed an internal election-testing website to the public internet just days before the November 3rd election. According to reporting by YamCo News and @Oregonian, the website displayed simulated election results, including 59,331 ballots counted and 2.39% statewide turnout. The Secretary of State's office says these were test results, not actual votes. But here's the troubling part. According to The Oregonian, a system update caused the website to become accessible outside its protective firewall, allowing public search engines to discover information that was apparently intended only for internal election testing - not the public. Former state representative Julie Parrish (@hotcouponmama) reportedly discovered the exposure, and the state subsequently took the website offline. Here's where things get interesting. Oregon's Secretary of State explicitly assures voters that the state's ballot-counting equipment is NEVER connected to the internet, so that is a lie they have been telling the public for years. This particular website has been indexed by Google for 10 YEARS. Now, to be clear, a publicly accessible election-results testing website is not the same thing as internet-connected ballot-counting equipment. There is currently no evidence that the actual vote-tabulation machines were compromised. But the distinction raises an important question: If an election-related staging website could become publicly accessible because of a system update, what safeguards ensure that Oregon's actual ballot-counting equipment and production election systems remain completely isolated? Is this just an example of embarrassing incompetence from @ORSecretaryRead's office or something far more sinister? This raises several questions that Secretary of State Tobias Read should answer publicly: How did a system update inadvertently expose an internal election website? What security controls failed, and how long was the website publicly accessible? Was the staging environment completely isolated from production election systems? Was any unauthorized access detected? Has an independent cybersecurity assessment been conducted to determine whether other election-related systems were exposed? Tobias Read regularly repeats the mantra to voters that its elections are safe and secure. This proves this not the case. As the Trump Administration is ready to send election monitors ahead of the November 3rd election, Read will have some explaining to do. In many states, this might get the Secretary of State immediately fired. Then Read could say goodbye to his future political aspirations, including the governorship. Yet here we have an election-related website that reportedly became accessible to the public because of a configuration error, just days before an election. Oregonians deserve more than Read's assurances that the exposed information was harmless. They deserve documentation establishing what happened, what systems were affected, and what corrective measures have been taken. Secretary of State Tobias Read should address this incident publicly and provide the evidence supporting his office's conclusions. Election integrity requires verifiable safeguards, transparency, and accountability, not empty platitudes.

Tina Kotek keeps telling us that “we are making progress here.” Massive tax increases. Oregon schools rank 48th. Utility rates up 60%. Oregon home prices the most expensive in the country. That isn't progress.

This man is incredible. First, Kaylub Giamanco ran into his daughters’ school and killed a school shooter by himself. Then he goes on TV to praise the unarmed teacher who put her life on the line to wrestle the shooter for his gun. Both of them heroes.

The best way to save shelter dogs is to keep them out of shelters in the first place. Families who can barely afford groceries and gas love their pets too, but can't afford to get them fixed. That's how shelters end up overpopulated and so many dogs end up euthanized. As governor, I'll support affordable clinics to ensure cities and counties enforce spay/neuter laws already on the books.

🚨 NEW: Kaylub Giamanco, the HERO father who TOOK OUT the Bend, Oregon elementary school shooter last week, tells the story for the first time "I started hearing children PLEADING for their lives. And then I started hearing gunfire and I just started army crawling faster and faster. And I told myself, this is probably the last thing that I'm ever going to do." "I have to go in. People are going to die." "I crawled through the bottom window that was shot out and continued onto the rug inside where there's a little breezeway with stairs." "And then the special needs classroom was to my left. At that point, I was on the ground on my hands and knees. I re-racked my weapon to make sure that a live round came so that I knew that I was ready to go." "And then I peeked through the window. And at this point I found my opportunity. And I'd seen a teacher on the left struggling with the gunman on the right with the rifle." "And I knew that they were on both sides of me, and I knew that he did not know that I was there. And so at that point I swung the door out and open and I stepped in and I fired." This man deserves the Presidential Medal of FREEDOM! 🇺🇸

Two former senior FBI officials, Nikki Cole Floris and Bradley Benavides, were taken into custody today on charges of allegedly lying to Congress about their involvement in the FBI’s investigations into Hunter Biden. The charges stem from an ongoing investigation into the since-dissolved FBI Foreign Influence Task Force. Floris led the FITF as a Deputy Assistant Director from mid-2019 through mid-2022. Benavides was the FITF Section Chief from mid-2019 through the 2020 election. Both testified that the FITF was not involved in the Hunter Biden investigations. Documentary evidence, contemporaneous communications, and witness accounts contradict their testimony. Floris is also on record privately claiming to be “running a shadow government” during the 2020 election in her role on the FITF. Lying to Congress by senior FBI officials strikes at the heart of our system. No one is above the law. The FBI has already dismantled the corrupt CR-15 squad that engaged in political weaponization targeting their opponents, including President Trump. Thanks to @TheJusticeDept @FBIKansasCity and @USAttyPirro. -DKP🇺🇸
