Managing rations and feed drops starts on day 1 and doesn't end until the ship day. It's certainly an art and a science with ever changing ways to improve health and gain. As good stewards we should not seek to improve one at the cost of the other. #cattlefeeding #AnimalWelfare

Is a brown egg or a white egg healthier? Trick question! There is no nutritional difference in eggs based on their color! Did you know the color of a chicken's ear lobe actually determines the color of the chicken's egg? Happy National Chicken Month!

Nice job ladies! Find these and more delicious recipes @CommonGroundNE
Another great CommonGround Cooking Demo at the Nebraska State Fair. Volunteers Paula Mach Peterson and Kelly Witte presented recipes for the lunch box and the dinner table. There was a great crowd who enjoyed samples of the Chicken Salad and Cheesy Beef and Rice caserole.

It seems like late in the day to early evening can be the most intense time for heat and loss of wind speed. The sprinkler system we have shows really well here. #animalwelfare #sprinklers #cattle

What are you cooking for Sunday dinner? DYK harmful bacteria in raw or undercooked meat & poultry have no scent or taste & cannot be seen? That’s why it’s important to use a food thermometer to verify your food reaches a safe temp➡️ fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/sa… #FoodSafety

You won't find any beef in the store that contains harmful antibiotic residues. 🥩 All meat is tested for antibiotic residues before it reaches grocery store shelves! bit.ly/2V4OTXs

DYK that refrigeration slows but does not prevent bacterial growth? Fresh (not frozen) raw turkey, chicken & ground poultry should be cooked or frozen within 1-2 days of purchase? Cooked leftovers should be eaten or frozen within 3-4 days! #FoodSafety
