I’m always asked how I can be a gay republican. A lot of gay republicans get this question and respond with wanting a strong economy, low taxes, or secure border. But that’s entirely missing the point of their question. They do not care about our policy positions. When people ask how we can be gay and republican, they’re asking how we can be gay and support a party that still has in its coalition people that openly do not want us and do not think we deserve rights. My response: that’s exactly why you should want me to be a gay republican! If you truly believed every election determined if our rights were on the line, that there was a 50/50 chance in any given election that you would be free or not free (newsflash they aren’t, but that’s a different conversation), you are simply not going to solve that by hoping Democrats win every time. America is an evenly split country. The parties will alternate power. There will never be a universe where Democrats or Republicans are in power forever. You should WANT the GOP to change its views. That only happens if gay people start making their presence known INSIDE the party. And you know what? We are! 60% of republicans support gay marriage and gay adoption. The GOP removed anti-gay language from its platform. The first gay cabinet member was a republican. The Supreme Court decision protecting you from getting fired for being gay was written by a republican-appointed Justice. That didn’t just happen out of nowhere. There are thousands of gay republicans working in government, the party, media, and social media doing hard work changing the GOP with little recognition and being berated as traitors the entire time. So if it’s so confusing how I can be gay and republican, it’s not because you’re concerned for gay rights, its because you’re a democrat. And that’s TOTALLY FINE. You’re allowed to be a democrat if you have liberal views. But you do not get to say you’re the only one cares about gay rights.

No serious conservative movement can continue to cede NYC like we have. Yes, we can “run against” mamdani, shower him with negative headlines, use the scary DSA as fundraising talking points, and we’ve done all of this But if the mission is genuinely trying to “save the country” (apparently this is what the GOP believes in) you can’t just willfully abandon the most important city in America Maybe you think New York doesn't matter politically, culturally, whatever. The demographics are definitely working against us. And yes, we can win the White House, Congress etc without it. But the rest of the country still defines itself against New York. It sets the terms of American culture even for the people who hate it Btw go to any major city and the ballot will probably be this depressing. Very few R’s even run outside of the major offices
In case anyone in New York City is confused, the second page of voting looks like my attachment. There are no Republican nominees. I asked @bot to explain this. It seems that this page has judicial races in Manhattan and there are only Democrat judges. The Republican party didn’t nominate anyone. Also, I can post this page as it is blank. It’s illegal to post your voting page if you have voted. Learning every day…..

Crazy. I was routinely told that the Trump administration was sidelining the opposition to work with the Chavistas, and every time I said this exact thing was always going to happen, it just takes more than two second, I was somehow the dupe.

It's something I've talked about a lot. The Zoomers into conservative politics are more right-wing than their elders, but they are a fraction of their generation. Most are either apathetic FanDuel Americans who don't care much for politics or libtards. This is the generation *most* opposed to deportations and other right-wing policies. The only silver lining is that Zoomers, as a whole, are less politicized than millennials were a decade ago. It's a whitepill how KEYED young conservatives are, but one shouldn't mistake them for the majority.
The extreme right wing Zoomers are simply not prepared enough for just how left- centrist the Zoomer generation as a whole is. Sorry guys but the generation that is the least supportive of literally any right wing policy, is not the generation that will make America the most right wing nation.

Darlene Graham must answer if her brother was gay. How dare you ask if Abdul El-Sayed’s mom and sister are in a terrorist group.

I almost drove my car off the road listening to an episode of the Fresh Air podcast, they were talking about Mitt Romney being great in a lot of executive roles and with a straight face said he should just be in charge of everything, and @asymmetricinfo had to remind them how the timeline would’ve been much better if he were elected in 2012 and the other hosts were like “oh no, not like that.”
Rahm Emanuel writes in The Wall Street Journal that Democrats need McCain-Romney Republicans “To make its impending victory last, my party should look to the center, not move further left.” wsj.com/opinion/democrats-ne…

Spent $600k in the primary supporting Paxton, now endorsing his opponent. This is the real way democrats rig elections.
I don’t put my name behind just anyone. 🇺🇸 I sat down with James Talarico and heard balanced, honest answers on security, the economy, and issues facing Texas families. That’s why I support @jamestalarico for U.S. Senate. Election Day is Nov. 3. Make your plan to vote. 🗳️

Still think about how in the Latino episode of Glee, Santana was upset that Mr. Shuester glamorized stereotypes of Latin culture and couldn’t understand the soul of it. So for her big showpiece song, she and Ricky Martin sang……La Isla Bonita by Madonna.
They’re gonna have one Latino character in the gleeboot so they can do a bad bunny episode

Random thought. Andromeda was a good game, people just refused to look past its glitchy rollout. Yes, the faces were still janky even after the patches. The combat was awesome. It had a great finale fight. The world’s were gorgeous. It deserved a redemption.

Michael Che and other actually funny people on SNL tell more offensive jokes regularly about entire demographics of people. The outrage over Shane Gillis is because he's perceived as right-wing-coded and there's longstanding bitterness that he's wildly successful despite that.

Whether a Paul Ryan-type or an "extreme right" type, everyone on the Right thinks their faction will benefit if the GOP loses badly. They all think the GOP will instantly transform into what they demand with a loss. But that's not how politics works. People like Tillis will be even more irrelevant after the midterms, regardless of the result. These types weren't strengthened after 2018, 2020, or 2022. They continued to be diminished with each successive election. As the DSA shows, you win by getting your candidates elected, not cheering on the sidelines for the other party to win.
Outgoing RINO Senator @ThomTillis gleefully shows a Politico reporter the countdown clock on his phone for what he says is guaranteed Republican defeat in the upcoming midtermS: "This thing that's going to happen 20 days from now that I have on my countdown clock as whoop ass."

He always acts like he’s some generational thought leader when in reality he proved to be deadweight that had to be dragged across the finish line in two elections. A negative WAR political talent if there ever was one.
