A pretty special moment for our team at ConductScience. Karl Deisseroth, who was awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine this week, is a coauthor on a study that used MazeEngineers equipment from ConductScience. The study used our open-field chambers in mouse experiments involving light-based neuronal stimulation: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article… But that is also why this means something to us. We started ConductScience with a simple idea: researchers should have better, more accessible tools to do science. When you manufacture an apparatus, write a piece of software, improve a protocol, or help a researcher troubleshoot an experiment, you rarely know where that work will eventually lead. Sometimes it helps a student complete their first experiment. Sometimes it becomes part of research at one of the world's leading laboratories. And sometimes you look back and realize that something your team built was used in research alongside a scientist who would go on to win the Nobel Prize. That is the mission we are working toward at ConductScience: build the infrastructure that lets more scientists ask better questions, generate better data, and move discovery forward. The discoveries belong to the scientists. Our job is to give them better tools to make those discoveries possible. Congratulations to @KarlDeisseroth , and congratulations to everyone at ConductScience who designs, builds, ships, supports, and improves the tools researchers use every day. The manufactured object belongs in the methods section. Geometry, materials, sensors, version history, and production checks all shape the experiment. Build it. Check it. Version it. Cite it. Replicatescience.com conductscience.com/nih-repli…

Replication can work while each lab runs in its own facility. A distributed core keeps the specifications, versions, procedures, and analysis layer maintained while labs run locally. One verified core. Many independent laboratories. We helped invent the distributed manufacturing core facility. Its why we win the @NIH replication prize

A paper is easier to repeat when the method package travels with it. Protocol. Apparatus spec. Analysis code. Dataset. Version history. That is the publishing side of productized replication. conductscience.org

A lab invention helps replication when it can travel. Technology transfer turns a prototype into a deployable tool with specs, procedure logic, and originating credit preserved. Prototype, credit, and method move together. That's why we won the NIH Replication prize.
