the whole cast is getting praised, but look at emi and bonnie’s reactions their personalities really come through here and emi’s supposed to be the one who’s six years older… she’s too cute 😭

emi says she can let herself be vulnerable around bonnie and bonnie talks about noticing when emi goes quiet under pressure, then stepping in to reassure her bonnie picking up on those quiet moments is so sweet emi gets to be the one who leans on someone too

every scene, every word, every tiny reaction… bonnie’s really doing her homework 😭 even mew moving a little closer has to register on ying’s face, and emi adds that they have to speak through the songs too learning the lyrics is apparently just the beginning

rak and key talking to someone they think is asleep… same bonnie, completely different mood rak asks so carefully, then gets flustered the moment pam answers key’s voice is soft too, but there’s a lot more ease in the way she calls chan and starts teasing her it’s the little pauses and the way bonnie delivers each line that make the difference for me emi answers her differently in each role, too even with almost the same setup, they never feel like the same two people

emi has done theatre before, but this is her first musical those hand gestures and the way she reacts to the other actors are already so much fun to watch

bonnie on the morning school run, emi on pickup duty the division of labour was settled the moment they mentioned who gets up early they make it sound like a perfectly normal family conversation now i'm picturing bonnie getting any ready in the morning and emi waiting at the school gates later

key’s comeback is still pretty savage on a rewatch and that final “are you scared of me?” she pretty much won the exchange right there
