Creatine isn’t just for gym bros it’s the most evidence-backed supplement going, and most people who’d benefit skip it. It helps your muscles produce energy for short, hard efforts (better training, better recovery), The how: ~3–5g a day of plain creatine monohydrate.

The supplement industry doesn't sell results. It sells certainty. A tub feels like action. 🧵 The honest guide to what's worth it and what's a waste:

A test for anything on your shelf: real evidence? actually need it, or is food the gap? would I still buy it if no one advertised it to me? Fail those = marketing.
10
I'd know. My shelf used to be full of it. Played pro for nearly a decade and still got sold the lot. Most of it did nothing but make me feel serious.
11
The mostly-a-waste pile: BCAAs (redundant if you eat enough protein), fat-burners (caffeine with a markup), "test boosters," most greens powders, 20-ingredient pre-workouts at doses too small to matter.
11
Creatine's the standout — most studied of the lot. ~3–5g/day of cheap monohydrate. Helps hard efforts + recovery, with growing evidence for strength with age and even memory. Not just for gym bros.
17
The short list that actually has evidence: creatine, caffeine, protein (as convenient food), electrolytes for long hot sessions, vitamin D if you're genuinely low. That's basically it.
12
Rule #1: supplements are the last 5%. If your food, sleep and training aren't sorted, no powder fixes that. You're putting a roof on a house with no walls.
9
The fix that works the same week: a carb top-up 30–60 min before training. Banana, wrap, oats. Mostly carbs, easy to eat. Two weeks. Watch the back half of his sessions.
20
And carbs aren't the enemy. For a young athlete, carbs ARE the fuel — what runs out late in a game. Cut them and you get a tired, slow kid.
19
The most common mistake isn't the wrong food. It's not enough food. A slow leak — less energy, slower recovery, fades late — blamed on everything except the actual cause.

Your kid isn't lazy at training. He's running on empty. We keep calling it fitness. Most of the time it's fuel. 🧵

Young athletes do two jobs at once: training AND still growing. Huge fuel demand. School lunch at 12, training at 4, nothing in between. By warm-up they already empty.
