This is tough, because it's definitely a happy feet snap in that he takes off without needing to in terms of protection (by a long shot). But I can also see him seeing the coverage right after the snap and saying "nope, never gonna happen" and deciding to try and create.
Mahomes has a clean pocket here and wants to scramble right away, possibly to get the first down with his legs. Seattle was all over the mesh look and had LB's ready for Mahomes legs. Mahomes was hit from behind and was lucky to retain possession.

Brett Veach, man or mouse?
League wide expectation is the #49ers will respond next after the #Seahawks acquisition of Quenton Nelson. The NFC West is about to heat up in a big way.

worthy rarely looks like the fastest guy on the field despite the 40 record

Think the Worthy criticism on *this* play isn’t about the ball (that was inside and short because the QB was hit mid-throw) & more so the… poor release, lack of attacking any leverage, running to space vs creating space, and a player 60lbs heavier being attached to his rib cage
Yall shitting on worthy as if Mahomes threw him a dime ball. The ball was short. Yes worthy could fought more for ball but Nick boxed him out

'27 1st, Rams '27 3rd, and a '28 2nd for Garrett Wilson, who says no? 99% of the time probably the Jets...but...unless?

if he stayed healthy he was looking great...but yeah he's not healthy. kinda hard to play through real injuries at 37.
Think the Side by Side shows a better look at the difference in tempo on the outbreaker from last week to last night from Kelce.

Story of the game is the 3rd down discrepancy... After Kelce's illegal shift took the K9 Conversion away, Mahomes and Travis cant hook up on a similar route they hit last week. Given what last week looked like (included at the end for comparison) I think 15 expects 87 to come out of this break quicker and throws it towards the sideline accordingly.

To clarify my #95 thoughts: * He is still pretty good. * He could still be injured. * He is obviously a few steps below his peak on less snaps played. * His contract is negative EV. There is no reason to expect these to get better so there is a decision to be made.

The cap part shouldn’t be that hard tbh. 1/3rd of the way through the year the base salary is the only part the trading team pays for and right now it’d be about $2m in cap space to roster. The other parts, sure.
Explain how they fit Garrett Wilson in the cap? And then explain why NY is willing to move a 26 year old WR they just extended who’s the focal point of their offense that’s been pretty well built for young QB to step into? I’d love him but please explain

To be clear, if Wilson had a higher base salary or other in season costs like incentives or per game roster bonuses then this would be a bigger issue yes. This is often why some players are hard to trade for. Wilson’s contract is easy for the Chiefs to fit in, though.

That’s cool. It’s about who they get tho. A DHop type doesn’t fix anything tbh.
Schefter: Chiefs have been calling around for a WR.

I guess I should have specified when I tweeted this…the Seattle defensive scheme correctly applied pressure where they should have because of the Chiefs personnel and executed. It was just a compliment to the Seahawks scheme and Macdonald lol.
Sorry to do this but this has nothing to do with “out schemed.” Pat runs up to the line, correctly points out the blitzer, and 5 of the 6 blockers have everyone accounted for. The newest OL makes an error and pushes through the DE when he shouldn’t. How is that “out schemed”??

Making every snap a living hell mentally and physically for the 4th OT on the other team is good scheming and playcalling. I think me and Mitch actually agree on that.

I would advise against this. They don't get the cap relief to use in the 2027 offseason if they post June 1st. Butker is an easy just straight up cut. $2.8m in dead cap for $4.45m in cap space is fine. Jones is a bigger question but I'd just eat the dead cap, personally.
The #Chiefs can save over $34 million in cap space by post June 1 releasing Harrison Butker and Chris Jones this off-season. This would incur $11.15M dead cap hit that could be spread out over a 2 year span.

this team is entirely too predictable
#Chiefs WR routes last night, the second game without Rashee Rice (hamstring). On 36 Mahomes dropbacks: 1. Xavier Worthy 33* 2. Jalen Royals 24 3. Andrew Armstrong 20 4. Cyrus Allen 10 5. Justin Watson 2 *Xavier Worthy has played 37 regular season games, and never topped 83 receiving yards.

show overload to one side, mug up Center, send blitz late on the side opposite the overload, and win. just out schemed. simple, really.

The scheme doesn't offer the advantages needed for this to be a legit excuse to not play promising players. If the scheme was creating chunk plays with nobodies then sure, whatever. It ain't doing that and hasn't for a couple years now.
Cyrus Allen is struggling to line up on this all 22, you can tell he doesn’t know the playbook all that well…issue with depending on day 3 rookies. Jalen Royals isn’t looking good in year two neither.

Here's every Chiefs defender who recorded at least one pressure vs Seahawks. Also, please don't look at Chris Jones' win %

Harrison Butker's 15 missed kicks (10 FGs, 5 PATs) since start of last season are the most in NFL.
