I will be talking to a small group of 16-18 year olds at @GandLSchool today about #stress. This small group then pass on their new knowledge to the wider group. A fantastic way to capitalise on #peertopeer learning @Incredible2019
#peertopeer teaching is highly effective at any age but esp. in the #teenagebrain. We discuss HOW to capitalise on the gift of the #social brain in #TheIncredibleTeenageBrain book - including a cracking #casestudy #TuesdayTip #TeachingTips #StudentEngagement #InspireIncredible

Here is a video from Kids that want to know, which gives a clear understanding of the way children's brains work. It can be shown to help understand, recognise and manage challenges in weak emotional control. #executive functions #executiveskills #EFs ow.ly/vk7d50up3Ra

At CiMF we are very excited to share @danidonovan's work. She does an amazing job of depicting executive functions. All of us have EF strength and weaknesses, however this is often more pronounced if you have ADHD. #executivefunctions #ADHD #EFskills

All or nothing. For me, #ADHD results in a lot of black-or-white thinking. Anything less than perfect feels like a total failure. Breaking even ONE DAY of a streak immediately results in falling off the wagon. I am 100% or 0%, and have a hard time accepting anything in between.

Excited to develop our EF training for lecturers & tutors in pastoral care of students @ShannonCollege This highlights our coach training is transferable to all populations. Here we trained educationalists working with a non-clinical population. #executivefunctions #EFskills

Young people do not need adults snooping over their shoulders, but they do need an adult watching their back. Wonderful final thought of the talk. Thank you @VictoriaBetton @Psycle_Doc #TeenOnlineMH #mentalhealth #teenagers #teenwellbeing #executivefunctions #EFskills
Parents & practitioners must be allies to teens social media use. To help and empower them to make wise choices as they are online that promote positive mental health, wellbeing and resilience. @VictoriaBetton @Psycle_Doc #TeenOnlineMH #socialmedia #adolescent #screens
