Controversial as it may be, @DeGodsNFT are indeed trying that new shit. And I think that's good. The time they spent trying the old shit fragmented the collection as well as the community and it's not often that projects recognize their issues and confront them head-on. However, it's not unique that, during this period, both DeGods and @y00tsNFT (not to mention $DUST) have taken a nosedive in value, following the (perhaps greatly exaggerated) death of NFTs. Is everything fixed, though? Can @frankdegods reclaim the Steve Jobs title? We'll see. But first, let's walk through a few numbers: They've taken a project that was spread across 3 (and a half) assets, 3 blockchains, with stale volumes and prices headed to 0, and they brought them all (home) together under one token (which ofc is also a memecoin play and requires the literal sacrifice of y00ts and DUST). Up until now 246 wallets burned a total of 915 y00ts. Almost 88% of those were bridged back to Solana, which is the consolidation part of the move, but 102 of the y00ts have barely done anything in the two years since launch except collect dust (not the token). Furthermore, 95 of those 102 barely hatched out of t00bs before being thrown into the eternal fire. With DUST, 330 wallets burned a total of 1.07 million. Almost half of this amount has been bridged back to Solana through @wormhole since the announcement. Regarding the main collection, 373 distinct DeGods have passed through the Floor Pool, either being exchanged for tokens or swapped for another mint in the pool. Similar to fuzzy DeGods, most of these tokens made the full journey from Solana to Ethereum and back to Solana again. Some however remained home, collecting dust (again, I'm not talking about the token). Overall, I believe this move has managed to unlock some stale assets, revitalize the community, and push the project forward. Although the participation numbers aren't huge, it's important to understand that the exchange is not mandatory and does not affect existing assets in any way. It's simply a way for all the value accrued by the project over time to be refunneled into a single fungible token. And that may reshape the trajectory of the project. At the same time, this is a huge win for @solsniperxyz, who continue to double down on hybrid collections and with whom they developed the entire solution. As a result, the marketplace has captured much of the NFT trading volume related to the collection and secured its spot as the only venue where holders can exchange their assets for $degod.
