I don't post much here anymore but just wanted to jump on to say after a few delays my dissertation on sports-related anxiety and performance in esports is being submitted next week
I am stressed and excited 👍
I just hope that this research will one day help someone, somewhere

To be or not to be (e)sports? That is not the question! A better question from a psychological point of view might be why and how Sport and Exercise Psychology could research esports, since this changes the focus of possible answers. For more info, see rdcu.be/cVooS

As we address the mental health crisis in academia, it’s good to increase counseling support for students. But, we can’t ignore the broken system that so often is what breaks people. Creating a better climate for mental health requires that we fix the system.
I realised this morning that I have really lucked out with my research supervision team!
I was worried about being pulled in 3 different directions but they are all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about my topic (even if they had never heard of esports before this haha) 🤩 📝
