Critic friends in the US attending Ramayana (Part 1) screenings: please be advised that Sony is only screening the English dub for press, which 1) is lip-synced using Gen A.I. and 2) is about 30 minutes shorter than the original Hindi version, which isn’t screening pre-release

My favorite visual gag in You Can See Everything is when Billy’s working inside a fancy looking office building and it cuts further out and it’s a WeWork

vanessa redgrave spoke up against zionists while accepting her oscar in 1978. it was in response to backlash she received for producing, funding, and appearing in a documentary about palestine and an organization fighting for liberation against israel. 🇵🇸

WILDWOOD: Surprise surprise, Laika’s latest stop-motion wonder is breathtaking. It's a stunning triumph of animation & art itself in which the tonal darkness has only grown on me. If CORALINE was their SPIRITED AWAY, this is their PRINCESS MONONOKE. My review @seattletimes below.

They’re really making me defend Whalefall on the TL but the movie (and book even more so) does the exact opposite of monsterizing the whale but also like, come on lol
Setting aside the offensively stupid premise, there is something about the spirit of this plot — clinging to the monsterization of profoundly intelligent, social creatures that we feared for centuries and massacred in wanton ignorance — that is uniquely corrosive and hateworthy.

Was so awesome to rewatch You Can See Everything with an unsuspecting audience, constant laughs, gasps, or audible “what the fuck”s. Even better the second time
