The Guardian, Steve Bloomfield: “In 10 days, Donald Trump will enter his own twilight zone. He is almost certain to lose control of the House and it’s not impossible he will face a Democratic Senate too. Any hopes of passing domestic policy – not that he’s bothered with that much during his first two years – will disappear. Instead, he will face a series of investigations that could lead, once again, to impeachment. On the world stage, however, it will be a different story. And unlike Bush senior, Clinton and Obama, his ambitions won’t be peaceful. The first two years of his second term have been catastrophic; the final two could be even worse.”

The Guardian: “For too long, it (Trump) argued, America’s allies had “suck[ed] us into conflicts and controversies central to their interests but peripheral or irrelevant to our own”. For Putin, this is a success almost three decades in the making. He has long viewed American support for democracy in eastern Europe and central Asia as “interference” in Russia’s backyard. Now he has a US president who agrees. Trump has also placed Putin on a far higher pedestal than Russia’s economy and its technological prowess deserves.”
Putin could rule America without stepping on its soil. All that he needs is an egotistical, narcissistic buffoon. One who he can control, instruct and rely upon to carry out his orders. A person who is so foolish that he can be manipulated without knowing it because he believes that Putin’s ‘suggestions’ are his own policies. He needs a person who is convinced that he is magnificent and will be recognized as such in American history. That’s all that he needs.

Trump just said the quiet part out loud: He doesn’t “give a damn” about higher gas prices, as long as his billionaire friends are making a fortune. Trump doesn’t tell the truth very often, but he did last night!
TRUMP on HIGH GAS PRICES: We’re making money like we’ve never made before. They’ll say: President Trump is bragging about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump. I don’t give a damn. We’re making a freaking fortune.

History is made today. So, how will what we are doing now be perceived in the future?

Ex Conservative Prime Minister Harold Macmillan ripped apart Margaret Thatcher's privatisation while she was doing it at a Tory Party conference, "Selling off the family silver" she's is just selling off the nations assets because she has run out of money.

Washington Post: “By Jeremy Roebuck, Patrick Marley and Matthew Choi.
“The Justice Department has moved to preemptively block certification of the results of Alaska’s tight Senate race if Republican incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan loses to Democrat Mary Peltola next month, launching an unusual legal battle amid broader concerns over the Trump administration’s willingness to accept the election results.” Will Trump demand a blockage of certification if the result is a marginal win by his Republican candidate? I suspect not.

Find the average: 17. Subtract 1 for the first age; add one for the third age: 16, 17, 18. Simple. 👍

I don’t recall saying that NATO had any claim on resources in Russia. You clearly have no understanding of sensible, reasonable and mature debate. You’re blocked.

‘Pros’ and ‘Cons’. Expansion brings more resources but also brings more responsibilities and more demand on those resources. When responsibility and demand don’t balance there are problems. Over thirty members therefore there are over thirty potential imbalances. When the organization is dependent for its resources on a far distant superpower the situation is exacerbated. When the people of that superpower neither understand nor support why they are being required to contribute to those resources, the pressure is increased. When their lunatic President is given the power to decide the superpower’s response the pressure is magnified. When another and competitive superpower perceives the vulnerability, disaster looms. Europe, and the world, is now in that situation. What can be done about that? You tell me!
