I went for a check-up yesterday, and my doctor told me he knows we teachers are facing unprecedented challenges but assured me we are appreciated. He even said, teaching is more than a just a profession; it's a calling and a mission. He gave me something better than medicine!

A few days ago, I lost a former student. When you receive news like that, you don't worry if they learned the curriculum. You wonder what type of impact you made on them as a person. Don't forget to teach what matters most.

Reworking an old illustration from a classroom game I play called "Clash of the Characters," I tried to go for a Super Smash Bros. look, but my son informed me that it looked too much like the "old" version. By old he meant early 2000's. (sigh) #gamification
