During filming of The Myth, Jackie Chan bonded with an elephant named Lakshmi in India
in one scene, her instinctive was to rescue him from water, it was unscripted yet beautiful

Tom Cruise playing pool to “Werewolves of London” in The Color of Money (1986) is pure movie magic. The confidence, the energy, the charisma. Martin Scorsese knew exactly how to capture a young movie star at the height of his natural charm.

>guy deletes his game library during mental health episodes (they aren't refunded)
>asks if some games can be restored or if he can get a list of what he had
>Steam Support restores everything
If this were any other company I'd imagine they'd maybe get a 20% discount on their next purchase over 50 dollars or something. Thread in reply.
One of the most common “plot holes” people point to is how easily the Fremen wipe out the supposedly invincible Sardaukar (and Harkonnen forces). On the surface it looks like the story just hypes up the Emperor’s elite troops and then has desert tribesmen beat them without much struggle. In the books, though, this is deliberate: the Fremen live in conditions harsher than Salusa Secundus, train constantly for survival and guerrilla warfare, and know every inch of Arrakis, while the Sardaukar are used to conventional warfare and are overconfident. The films compress this and make the victories feel even quicker, which is why it reads as thinner there than it does in Herbert’s text.
Another frequent complaint is about Paul’s prescience—if he can see the future, why does he still end up trapped in the jihad path? The books treat this as a feature, not a bug: prescience shows him branching possibilities rather than a single locked future, and many of those paths lead to worse outcomes (including the extinction of humanity). He repeatedly chooses the least catastrophic route available to him at each moment, which is why the story is as much about the horror of being able to see too much as it is about power. A lot of what get called plot holes in the franchise are really just pieces of world-building or thematic choices that the movies don’t have room to fully unpack.

Here’s a story for you. We started filming without owning the title and had to do alternates.
Taft Broadcasting owned the title Ghostbusters as part of their half-hour sitcom starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop) and a gorilla chasing ghosts. I had never heard of it. They didn’t have proton packs or Bill Murray. Columbia paid $500,000 to buy the name, but they really should have paid Dean Martin, from whom I first heard the term.
In the film Scared Stiff (1953), he and Jerry Lewis (check out his acrobatic stair descent) are in an old haunted castle, and Lizabeth Scott asks Dean: “Who are you guys?” And Dean answers: “You’ve heard of Trustbusters and Gangbusters, we’re Ghostbusters!”
For my research writing the first movie, I watched every single ‘ghost’ comedy ever made. Bowery Boys, Hope and Crosby, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis all did such films.
Happy Halloween 2026.

A moon only 504 km wide is hiding an ocean?
Yes, Enceladus. It orbits Saturn and its surface is covered in ice. In 2005, Cassini caught jets of icy spray shooting out of cracks near its south pole.
Later, Cassini flew right through the plumes and sampled them. Scientists concluded a salty ocean lies beneath the ice shell.
Water, heat and chemistry are what biologists look for when they ask where life could exist.
We do not know if anything lives there. Cassini's mission ended in 2017.

This is so frustrating and baffling I don't even have the words.
Development on ‘STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT 3’ has not begun yet.
EA chose to invest in ‘Battlefront 3’ instead of a new ‘Mass Effect’ game and shut down BioWare as a result.

I keep hearing people saying Andromeda was underrated but I just don't see how. It had the best combat in the series but the story, companions, and overall writing were all very subpar to me.
I haven't played the game in years so I will definitely circle back next year to see if my perception has changed.

An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold 8.7 million copies and generated around $366 million in revenue, according to Alinea Analytics.
-58.8% on Steam
-5.5% on Xbox
The game also had 4.3 million Game Pass players, which may have reduced Xbox sales but it also helped more people discover the game.
Make amazing games, sell like crazy? Who would have wondered this

100%.
It's not just Bill Watterson's lush art and funny writing that made "Calvin & Hobbes" so special to me as a kid.
It's that Calvin was LITERALLY ME and every other precocious, mischievous little boy.
If you have any boys, buy EVERY anthology of this strip you can and share it with them. They will love it.
As an added bonus—
Watterson does a wonderful job making Calvin's parents respectable, stable figures in his life. Calvin is, of course, always in trouble. But it's clearly a safe, loving home.
Just one of the all-time great comic strips.

Man no wonder these games fail.
Narcissistic management creating group think, a bunch of people who gas each other up, then caught off-guard when their games flop because the world isn't a reflection of their personal echo chamber.

I guess I can say it now - so when applicants would apply to the studio, the producer would go through their LinkedIn to see what posts they liked, and if he disagreed with their political/social Like, he'd advocate not to hire them based on their Like.

Two of the best games I've ever played, and replayed, and replayed again...
The #dnd games BioWare gave us brought Faerûn to life with so much heart, depth, and unforgettable storytelling.
The first two Baldur’s Gate games are universally regarded as masterpieces and are widely credited with revitalizing the cRPG genre in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
