Between @Europcar and @ParkStationJHB I am being scammed. Got a 1 day @Europcar rental to drop off by 6pm. At 17:30 I drove into the @Europcar bays. Offices closed. No signage. Now @Europcar has the car but say I need to pay R1000 to @ParkStationJHB security for the keys😒 What?!

I asked @Europcar to detail this in an email because I do not understand why the security tasked with looking after the cars in their @ParkStationJHB bays can remove the keys from the cars and hold them hostage for R1000. Doesn't that sound like a scam.

I do not understand why I have to leave where I am to go to @Europcar Park Station, to directly pay the security guarding their bays R1000 for keys that were never lost. Why is this not in a receipt that I can dispute??? I don't understand what the fee is for. This is super dodgy

This is so dodgy. @PrasaRail @ParkStationJHB charges people a 'spot fine' aka finders fee of R1000 for the release of what they consider 'found items'. @Europcar Park station seems to enable this, as they put me in touch with the security. They are the go-between. Is this legal?
