Ravi Shastri about KL Rahul: 🗣️
"KL Rahul has once again saved the day for this Indian team, like he always does. I think I've lost for count now, he has done it on so many occasions. He plays the waiting game in this format so well. He knows his game better than anyone else. He just waits for the bad balls, takes those 1s & 2s everytime, can be destructive at the death, and he can bat anywhere. I mean, just imagine averaging over 50 batting at 5 & 6. He is a phenomenal ODI batter, and a true match winner of India".

Opening the batting in tests in England and Australia against the swinging red ball, to being the crisis lower order finisher in ODIs under alien conditions, when KL Rahul retires his stats might not do justice to the fact how crucial he has been for Team India over the years.

Never seen KL Rahul get out early in such critical situations on a tough pitch.
If you look at the positive side of things, he is him.

KL Rahul's control over the pull shot was exemplary today. I haven't seen the control percentage but it must be high.
That is why it is important to land orthodox pulls in SENA. It is a massive weapon in those conditions.

Poor Rahul. Fellow either gets to bat in situations like these or doesn't get to bat at all.

KL Rahul seems to be batting on a different pitch today than the rest of the batters. Hopefully, team management will send at no. 5 from the next match.

KL Rahul has to be one of the most comfortable Indian batters on difficult overseas pitches. The technique, the composure and the calmness he brings to the crease are simply outstanding. A pleasure to watch him bat. @klrahul

Axar at #5 had a well defined role in Asia: left-handed spin hitter breaking the run of right handers in top 4 and did a commendable job. He isn't the best suited to combat the pacy, bouncy conditions in SENA. Especially with KL Rahul in the lineup.
