This week, CrimeWatchMpls entered its 16th year of providing you with critical public safety and livability info you can’t get anywhere else.
Crime Watch was launched in Aug. 2010 specifically in response to government secrecy and lack of transparency about crime, in order to provide info to the public that’s being hidden, difficult to obtain, and ignored by “mainstream” media.
Sadly, we’ve watched this city, county, and state spiral continuously down the toilet into greater secrecy and lack of transparency, even at a time over the last 5 years when accessible public safety information has never been more important to the public (while our ridiculous media miserably fails to report the truth).
It’s government fiduciary negligence, and we deserve better.
Crime Watch will continue to do what it can in reporting info you will never get from anyone else, but your voices are needed in contacting your reps on every level to demand an end to the secrecy. Also, we simply must start recruiting better candidates to run for office who will uphold public safety openness and truly represent the people.
Thanks for following.
This dimbulb. Just because #MNmedia refused to report the truth until they were absolutely forced to doesn't mean it didn't exist before that. Thanks for proving the point, Molly, that #MNmedia has been complicit in the coverup that's been documented by legitimate sources like Crime Watch FOR YEARS.

Crime Watch's reporting from 2019 documenting the prior generation of Somali gangs in Minneapolis. This activity was all but ignored by dinosaur #MNmedia, @mollypeonies.

Crime Watch's reporting from May 2023 of an early documented (confirmed) Somali gang violence incident from the current gen. (It had been going on prior to this date, as well).
#MNmedia has been ignoring it for a long time, @mollypeonies

Now we've gotten multiple messages about shots near the Karmel Mall at 28th and Pleasant Ave. Encryption conceals real-time public safety information from residents, but we'll update if something shows up on the inadequate @MinneapolisPD 911 dashboard.
South Minneapolis - After 11 p.m., numerous squads at repeat problem spot Lake St near 35W/Nicollet on an assault (pic 1).
A database kept by Crime Watch shows several assault calls at or near the location in the last week (pic 2).
South Minneapolis - 12:15 a.m., numerous squads responded on a SHOOTING at/near the Midtown Greenway. Male 39 shot in the chest and back.
28xx 13th Ave S
South Minneapolis - Just before midnight, several squads responded on a robbery of person near 26th and Pleasant. A resident messaged and said several squads were on site they may have heard a taser deployed and a man screaming 'I can't breathe.'
We'll update if any matching bookings show up.
Do we have any #MNmedia that will ask what neurological condition is causing Amy Klobuchar's tremor issue? This seems important.
Submitted just now, only one message so far, no other verification:
"Have you guys gotten any info at the strong law enforcement presence at the MOA? Employees are getting checked at the door this morning. Police from all over- Duluth, St Cloud, military vehicles and men (national guard?). Apparently media is all over at the state capitol today too. Are they expecting Omar news today and potential riots?"

Who's got info?
Minneapolis cop fired after alerting her brother he was wanted as a suspect in a NE Minneapolis shooting Crime Watch posted in Sept. 2025.

We have a source telling us that the Minneapolis Somali gang "Muddy" is connected to a fatal shooting near a mosque in Ohio on Monday, and that there's a connection to the Somalis that were shot in NE Minneapolis on July 4 weekend, some of whom were confirmed from Ohio.
Submitted report from south Minneapolis that multiple garages were broken into early this morning near 45th and Nicollet Ave.
There's only one corresponding burglary report on the 911 dashboard.

UPDATE: Apparently another person who was ejected from a downtown Minneapolis building just stole the Good Samaritan's vehicle from 394.

This restaurant was my go-to for years. Great breakfast burrito and Southside hash. And the drink program and baked goods were often inspired.
Unfortunately they ended up throwing gas onto open flame in the neighborhood trying to involve themselves into a cause they were woefully unprepared for. For a sense of duty, for moral brownie points in their circle, infected by white guilt etc who really knows.
Either way, they turned what was a quirky, successful restaurant into ground zero. This was directly across the street during the free food era. Completely understand why the neighborhood rebelled against them.
