Just spent a month watching migration around beautiful Side (s Turkey). Ruins, shopping, restaurants, architecture & ambiance; loved it. Check the leather jackets ladies...
great to be home with my remarkable parents (93 and 90 years young). Time is precious. Lots of time with Sam, Sophie, family and 2 Orcha's. Turkey next for migration.
A great year of simplifying life. Santa comes to my house every day - 1000s of birds; beautiful colors & patterns. I talk to most family and friends today - so lucky. I hope you can feel fortunate too and have a wonderful Christmas.

5-10k in vismig each morning the last 3 days at my place N of Los Angeles. A tiny snippet - it's bloody insane!
3rd spring watching daytime migration in mtns N of LA. Fridays flight was massive (20k) and 1000s lot of days - follow Daniels Tejon Pass count on trektellen.org. Night flight also big and low When there are few birds, the scenery and flowers are okay…
Even on Lake Wort Beach pier it is cold this morning. The often spectacular sunrise is a panorama of wild cloud formations. A great way to start the day. Merry Christmas to everyone.
Apologies to those who were not aware that I am at the Río Grande Valley Birding Festival. Today is the last day. I will be in San Antonio tomorrow morning and Kerrville tomorrow evening and Tuesday; Tucson Thursday. Hope to see you at one of these events.
1st time keynoting at Hummerbird Celebration in Rockport/Fulton. Great festival - hummingbird show was truly spectacular.
Port Aransas tonight was jammed with birds - between 5-10,000 Black Terns was amazing. A LTJA & SAGU were brilliant surprises - fitting end to a great weekend
