Destra Network | $DSYNC Destra Decentralized Web Hosting - Destra Domains One-click Integration Today, we deployed a new feature to the Beta of Destra One-click Web Hosting, to make it easier to connect a Destra Decentralized Domain Name to a Website deployed on Destra Network. With this feature, users can manage their Destra DNS, right from the Web Hosting. This lets users host their websites, from personal blogs, to multi-billion decentralized finance dApps on the truly decentralized Destra Web Hosting, and connect it to a decentralized Domain Name, acquired from the Destra DNS, making the whole dApp 100% decentralized, right from the domain name to the hosting.

Today, every domain name under Web2 is under the control of ICANN, a centralized authority. This centralization gives ICANN ultimate power over internet domains, a significant concern given the potential for misuse. For example, a hypothetical but alarming scenario would be ICANN altering DNS zone records for sites like uniswap.org to redirect traffic to a phishing site, which could jeopardize billions of dollars within the crypto ecosystem. Despite the decentralized nature of Web3 protocols, the entry point for many platforms in the crypto industry remains a Web2 domain name, controlled by a centralized authority. This reliance on centralized domain names poses a significant concern for the integrity and independence of Web3 protocols and platforms. To fix this, we at Destra Labs, are building Destra Decentralized DNS, with a hybrid of ERC-137 and ERC-1185 standards. Combining ERC-137 and ERC-1185 allowed for a 100% decentralized DNS system on Ethereum that not just translates domain names into content hashes but incorporates multiple dimensions or attributes for each domain name. By incorporating ERC-1185, each domain name can carry additional information or rights beyond just address resolution. This also includes subdomain management, access rights to certain services like TXT records, and custom cryptographic keys for enhanced security.
