This obviously was not a real fan. It was a stuntman brought in by stunt director Ellis Edwards at the behest of Eric Bischoff. WCW, at the time, was leaning into fan interactivity, egging on fans to throw trash into the ring, etc.

Record sale: The Intercontinental Championship belt Ricky Steamboat won from Randy Savage at WrestleMania III sold for $716,750 at Heritage Auctions on Saturday.
It is the highest price ever paid for a wrestling championship belt at auction. The total includes Heritage's 22 percent buyer's premium on a $587,500 winning bid.
Owner @HeyHeyItsConrad wrote, "We set a record! Thank you!"
The previous belt record was $414,800 for Hulk Hogan's WrestleMania 2 WWF Championship belt in August.
The belt was used from 1985 to 1988 and held by Hall of Famers Tito Santana, Savage, Steamboat and The Honky Tonk Man. Thompson got it in a 2020 trade with Vince McMahon.
