IF I was the officer, I would've taken the evasive action of stepping aside so I did not get killed. In this instance, shooting did not and would not have saved his life. This was knowable and in itself, shows this was not clearly justified enough to not bring it to trial.
Second observation 5 police; all of those shots fired over diapers AND all they managed to do was kill a 1-year-old. Those officers should at the very leat face civil penalties and lose their jobs for this.

The boy’s parents say he repeatedly tried to interact with the puppet but was ignored.
Darien Library apologized to the family and launched an independent investigation.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers reportedly had a text thread competing to pull over the most Black drivers, while using racial slurs in discussions about force against Black residents. More than half a dozen officers have reportedly been recommended for termination or quit.
A badge should NEVER be a license for discrimination! These allegations call into question traffic stops and use-of-force incidents involving these officers!
