Hearing an elected politician plainly state that corporations buy politicians from both parties is like one of three things that actually gives me hope
James Talarico traces 50 years of trickle-down back to one 1971 document, the Powell memo, a corporate blueprint to buy power
“In fact, you can, you can pinpoint this one document called the Powell memo, 1971.”
“But if you read this memo, it's basically a blueprint for how corporate interests can start to dismantle the Great Society and the New Deal”
“They're going to spend massive amounts of money in our politics, buying politicians in both parties, elevate corporate voices in media, appoint sympathetic judges.”
“And that has really been the story of the last 50 years in this country, last five decades.”

I think main political story of next two years is going to be Democratic leadership’s efforts to do almost nothing while pretending to do a lot (but golly gee, they just couldn’t get it done). And how they’re going to get caught by their own voters! Just like Trump got caught.

66% want Medicare for All
61% want a billionaire wealth tax
57% want a $20/hour minimum wage
63% want a data center moratorium
58% want to end military aid to Israel
73% want to ban super PACs
79% want a 10% credit card interest rate cap
No more excuses. Democrats must deliver.

Let Trump veto every wildly popular proposal like Medicare for all and then you make all your campaign ads about it for 2028 to win the White House. It’s so logical and obvious.
Why wouldn’t Democrats just go with that easy winning strategy? Unless they’re funded by interests opposed to giving us all healthcare 🤔

The Constitution does not explicitly require the Speaker of the House to be an elected member of Congress. That means Obama could be Speaker. Just throwing that out there for funsies.

You oftentimes wonder how the absolute hell someone like Donald Trump first got elected but then you remember he looked/sounded like this a decade ago and then it suddenly makes at least a bare shred of sense
I think a lot of the people saying that GTA 6 will have an expiration date because it’s a single player game and there’s no online at launch didn’t play RDR2.
This game isn’t going to be like GTA 5, it’s not going to be the same every time where you rush through the story and that’s that. The great thing about RDR2 is the replayability, the different random encounters as you travel across the map, the different story dialogue you could choose even tho it was pretty limited (We know that GTA 6 will have this but on steroids) Each playthrough is gonna be sooo different and there’s going to be so many encounters that we most likely won’t see them all until we finish the story multiple times

The biggest mistake Democrats can make is thinking they had absolutely anything to do with the historic shift this election. It happened despite people hating them just as much as they hate Republicans. Shit like this is exactly why.

I’m used to Democrats making comedically atrocious decisions, but please for the love of god, don’t stick with Jeffries and Schumer who are liked by 18% and 13% of voters respectively

He's testing the waters and betting correctly that if Schumer/Jeffries are the leaders, there will be no accountability

Democrats are already starting to show they don't get it. All of the politicians think @hakeemjeffries shouldn't even be questioned and he should win speakership unanimously. And almost all the Democratic voters don't want him at all. This is going to lead to an instant clash.

DEMOCRATS MUST DELIVER
Trumpism grew out of the failure of the Democratic Party to stand with working families. That cannot continue. At a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality and declining faith in democracy, Democrats MUST deliver. No excuses.
- Medicare for All
- A $20-an-hour minimum wage
- The PRO Act
- A wealth tax on billionaires, which would pay for universal childcare, free public colleges and universities, and a massive housing program
- An AI data center moratorium
- Bringing ICE under control and comprehensive immigration reform
- REAL campaign finance reform

Jeffries’ and Schumer’s strategy was “do nothing and let maga policies hurt America till there’s backlash”
Then zohran won with the strategy of helping now. All the candidates running adoped the zohran strategy. This is why Jeffries and schumer cannot be leaders
