Settling into retirement and had our first trip away to Istanbul.
Stayed at the @CPKempinski on the shores of the Bosporus.
Visited the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia Mosque and chilled next to our pool.
Summer has finally arrived & we have taken a short break in Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Today I took Lola our dog, up to Kirkcarrion a 600ft climb for some stunning views. This afternoon we went to @RabyCastle & had a lovely afternoon wondering around the grounds and gardens.
Ride out today to Knaresborough for breakfast today with the boys.
Strong winds made for a quick ride home.
Beans on toast at The Black Mulberry In Knaresborough which was very good.

Started retirement with a 56 mile ride around Yorkshire Dales with the Long Course Weekend.
Beautiful route taking in Ripon. Pateley Bridge, Masham and Trapping Hill.
Snapped my chain after 26 miles but with the help of some fellow commuters was quickly back on course.
This is my last tweet as a officer in @NorthYorksFire

My last weekend On Call for @NorthYorksFire after 30 years service.
It’s been a busy one with 3 x RTC’s, a child trapped in an escalator, a HAZMAT job & a couple of AFA’s.
Thanks to Control & the crews I have worked with, over all those years.
Heading to my retirement on Tuesday
Today GM Pete Gregory said his goodbyes to @NorthYorksFire after over 30 years service.
Some very moving words from DCFO Mat Walker & AM Tom Hirst.
Pete will leave a huge hole in the Protection department.
We wish him all the best and I look forward to joining you in 26 days.

Our @NorthYorksFire brilliant Data Analyst, @ZakDurrani is running the York Marathon in October.
Please take a second to read his inspiring reason why, send him well wishes and donate if able to @TargetOvarian.
Go well Zak 💪🏻👍🏻
I don’t have access to a back garden anymore…
So I had to take this after a run while no one was looking lol.
Two years apart. Same vest, different run.
The reason for the run
Please donate.

Over 8 months I have worked with the Data Analyst @NorthYorksFire to design a dashboard to measure productivity of crews on station.
@ZakDurrani has taught me so much about data & how this can be used to improve performance
Today I gave him a gift of my appreciation
